As I said above, playing a nonconference game hurt the Packers this week.

According to the rules, in the case of the four way tie, the head-to-head tiebreaker has to be a sweep of all teams involved or eliminating a team that lost to everyone else. Thus, Dallas' win over Atlanta is irrelevant in the four-way tie because they have not beaten either Green Bay or Philadelphia. NFL.com states that prior to doing any tie breaker, division ranking must be done to eliminate all but the highest ranked team in the division. Philadelphia ranks above Dallas in the division because Philly is 1-0 while Dallas is 0-1. Dallas would therefore be 8th.

The three way tie is then handled between Atlanta, Philly, and Green Bay. None have played each other, they have the same conference record, and they don't have four common opponents. Thus, we go to strength of schedule. Consequently, the Falcons would be 5th, Green Bay 6th, and Philly 7th.

http://www.nfl.com/standings
http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss

When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.

You are right mi_keys. My mistake was doing too much on Sunday and not waiting for the Monday Night game to run data completely.
That was an oversight on my part.

As promised on Sunday I have edited my information.
Thanks for calling me on that as I want to be accurate.

Hey Cheez?

I was thinking. Tuesday morning ya update the original post with your hard work.

I delete all previous posts so we only discuss the latest seedings?

Repeat this every week?

Why not let me post a new thread each week in the main forum like I wanted originally?

Nostopdrivel was against having a thread a week. He moved it here. He wanted to see the changes from week to week.

Now you want to delete all the previous stuff because the thread is too large and cumbersome.

Well I told everyone that I was against having one large thread when this thread was moved here. But I had no say in the matter.

Now you are begining to see my point of view and but want to delete everything.

If the weekly title only changes with the number of the NFL week threads can be searched if somone wanted to see the changes over the season.

If you want to keep a clean thread with current data let it be a weekly thread. Originally I just was doing the NFC in Packer discussion.

If you want to keep this thread out of the Packer Forum and want to delete it go ahead. It will near worthless next wekk.

I don't know what your issues here are with storage space and limiting the number of threads originally and now wanting to limit the size of a thread.

I don't understand why no one listened to me before.

I've explained this already.

I'll take the lack of answering the question asked as a no.

Thanks for posting this. Pretty neat.

Want my opinion.. too bad your getting it.

Why not make it a front page article... it will only help drive traffic, weekly it will spurn discussions and best of all.. it will add another component to the front page flow.

My two cents..

Not everything I think of is gold, often times it's poop and that is why I asked for input.

I like the idea of being able to chronicled see the progression. Although now that I've agreed with Cheez on that aspect, his motivation to disagree most everything done here, will change his tune. lol

I think pack93z idea is the best one. A weekly post on the front page would be the most excellent.

Also, I've taken the time to split each week's post.

Cheez, I'm tired of you questioning things so just do it however you'd like to.

Wow, look at some of these strength's of victories.

The bottom feeders are getting worse and worse. It would not surprise me to see multiple 0-16 teams this year.
