Wouldn't you be fed up too?

You have outplayed or at the least played on the same level as others in this defense, yet you get no playing time? Come on man.. I would be pissed to.

I think I'd rather trade Barnett or Hawk instead of Bishop.

Preferably the tweeting samari guy.

I am going to have to take steves side on this one.

You can say hes overrated all you want. But he hasn't seen enough playing time to be overrated or underrated.

I disagree on the part that hes one dimensional. From what i have seen of him, he can do it all.

As far as the Chester Taylor play. It was in the open field and Taylor made a very nice move. But Bishop should of made the tackle. But come on now it was only one play.

No i am not saying he should start. But he should definitely see more playing time.

The Chester Taylor play was the Packers' old scheme. In Capers new defense you won't see a lot of Bishop in match coverage with a great pass-catching RB in the open field with no help. Or at least, you shouldn't see that.

I'd like to see more of Bishop -- if for no other reason than that he brings intensity and big hits. We need to win the physical battle with our defense. How do you think Pittsburgh has been so good for so long? They're assignment sure and LeBeau's schemes are top notch -- but also, they hit people.

That video of the Buffalo game is a freakin' monster one-game highlight (albeit a preseason one).
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Nailed it.. if you start lighting people up that try to run between the tackles, they start shying away from it. How has MN been so effective in the run defense for year.. two mammoths in the middle and EJ Henderson cracking skulls. People start to not challenge that an attack other areas..

Bishop brings a level of intensity that we are lacking at Linebacker past what we have seen in Matthews.. not talking about the showboating after a routine play either.

Bishop is a skull cracker.. let him crack a couple of snaps.

Not that one play is evidence enough that Barnett is playing well, but wasn't he a big reason the Pack snuffed out the 4th down toss play Detroit ran? Matthews sold out on contain, but Barnett and Collins were on it instantly. Matthews ended up making the tackle after re-adjusting to Kevin Smith, but Collins and Barnett made a nice play.

Look, I'm not completely obsessed with the linebacker play like you 93z (I consider it a good thing, don't get me wrong) but I don't have a problem with Barnett and Hawk this year.

Oh, and I really don't care about the style points either. I could give a rats ass if Barnett samurais or tweets or farts. The game has changed. People show-boat. This isn't the Ice Bowl. Let the pro athletes do their thing. :)

All things considered, get Bishop and Chillar in there more. They seem to be more effective blitzers.

One thing about the Chester Taylor play--I distinctly recall that being his first play in replacing an injured player.

Correct! I believe Barnett was tearing his ACL or something like that up on the previous play.

Someone Agrees with me...  , albeit, I don't think they have to just pull snaps from Hawk.. Barnett too would make sense.

This is getting ridiculous

Thanks goes out to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for the reminder of what a good job Desmond Bishop has done in game situations

"Bishop had 24 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble in exhibition games," wrote McGinn last Friday. "Of the seven fumbles forced by the entire linebacking corps in the last 20 games, three were by Bishop in a mere 142 snaps."

The fact that Bishop is not playing on defense is bordering on ludicrous. Look at those stats again. A.J. Hawk has zero interceptions, zero sacks, zero forced fumbles and zero fumble recoveries through five games this season.

Hawk's playing time has decreased to around twenty some snaps per game as he's only playing in the base defense. And while he's been reliable, he's not an impact player. Bishop could be.

"How does he not get on the field?" a personnel director from another team said in McGinn's article. "If you watched (Nick) Barnett the first four games you'd say Bishop is a better football player. He makes more plays than Hawk. Maybe there's something I don't know but I know this: That guy was making like nine, 10 tackles a game in preseason."

I'll admit that Nick Barnett is improving with every game this season and he A) recovers from his knee injury from a year ago and 😎 gets more comfortable in the new defensive scheme.

It would stand to reason that Bishop would take Hawk's place on the field and not Barnett's. But the time to make the change is now.

Maybe the coaches are seeing something on the practice field that is causing them to hold Bishop back. But the game isn't played on the practice field. It's played when the game is on the line. And the Packers could use some impact plays from Bishop now.

Yeah, he was coming off the sidelines cold. Get him in the flow of the game. Also use him to his strengths. He stood up Apete on a fourth down and even forced a fumble. The dude plays with a streak.
