Wide receiver Donald Driver, though, too the opportunity to throw his support behind his current quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, instead of his longtime friend, Favre. He said repeatedly I dont care when asked about Favres fantastic finish, then vowed that Rodgers would be unfazed by the hype this week promises to bring.

He handled it all last year, and hell be able to handle it again. I think hes fine, Driver said. Id go to battle with him all day long. Hes our quarterback, hes our man right now. And hes going to continue being our man for as long as his contract says hes our man. We have to have his back, just like he has to have our back. And were going to go to war with him. Thats how we have to play the game.

Oh.....believe me....ANY Packer player that says "they don't care" about the upcoming game is just blowing smoke.
You can BET that BOTH teams care, ALOT.
But no one wants to be quoted and used as locker room fodder.

Remember the Jets said the Patriots game was their Super Bowl up to this point? I am wanting this game to be the same intensity level. Every game should be intense, but this is MNF, against our hated rival and our former QB.

This vikings game has all the ingredients to be a classic, i for one dont mind staying up all night for this MNF, even though it means i have to skip sleeping and go straight to work.
I hope the matchup of a ball hawking secondary and QB Brett Favre turns out the way it sounds.

It amazes me how Donald Driver is able to continue to play at such a high level. He's out there blowing past rookies 12 years younger than him.

The Rams game was classic Donald Driver. Crazy left-handed circus catch mixed in with wide open drops. I go from saying, "How could he drop that?!" to "How the hell could he catch that?!"

Gotta love the guy.

Jerry Rice was the same way. Simply worked harder than his peers.

It can't possibly only be work ethic, though. Obviously, he keeps his body in great condition, but it's nothing short of miraclous that a receiver who goes over the middle and gets hit that much doesn't get injured more often. Or is still even playing the game. There's a bit of luck involved, lol.

That said, he has a great mentality and is very tough. There's a fair share of work involved in playing for such a long time. Especially if you play like Driver does.

Rock - Life is 50% luck, 50% skill.

I've known people who did EVERYTHING right and still got cancer, and one of my closest friends was addicted to intravenous cocaine, was an alcoholic, and smokes like a chimney to this day. He'll probably live to be 80.

Fair? No.

That's the luck part of it.

The skill part of it was Jerry Rice did train harder than anybody, and I really mean anybody. He trains in the San Francisco area and lots of sports stars try to keep up with him. I think there were 4 people who were able to keep up with him. One of them was a baseball player. I forgot who they were though.

I'm sure Driver's work ethic is circles around a lot of others.

But yeah, you make a brilliant point about going up the middle. That's what I mean by luck. Like my ex-coke addicted friend. That part is luck.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
