How about John Gruden as Packers Head Coach. I believe he has a great history of taking teams to the Superbowl. That would be my fav pick of coaches that are available.

Actually think Gruden would be a good fit, him and Capers would be a good team i think.

I was thinking about this myself. I absolutely love the dedication he puts into his work. He's there before anyone else and he's gone after everyone else. Wouldn't call him an offensive guru, but he has a good understanding of both offenses and players. Wouldn't mind him at all.

Still, let's just see how McCarthy does. His constant secrecy and silence is annoying. So is his predictability. With a decent team, though, he can do quite well. He isn't a Tony Dungy or Lovie Smith, I'm afraid, but he's really not that bad either.

I've always said I'd rather a power OL instead of this pussy cut block zone stuff.

I still say that. Get some big fat large men in there to run the shit over people.

Absolutely.

The run game should be take no prisoners, beat them up until they cry "mama", and then beat them up so more.

and then drop dynamite down their pants for good measure.

Yup, this zone blocking debacle should be put to rest. I want the biggest, fattest O-line a team can get, and just watch them steamroll people, and maybe...JUST MAYBE, protect the QB! Imagine THAT!

And as much as I love Chuckie, he would have everyone from Rodgers to Brohm starting every other week! That's my only drawback on the guy...although, with that said, he did stick with Gannon while he was in Oakland. And Johnson that Super Bowl year in Tampa. Ahhh, hell...what do I know?!

+1. You read my thoughts.

Shanahan's a ZBS guy. I used to hate when we played Denver--thought their offense was a little dirty with the increased risk of injury to defensive players from diving at their knees. I was dismayed when McCarthy picked it for the Packers.

One of the things I liked most about Mike Sherman was the running game he installed.

Gruden would probably be the best option out there for now. It can't be worst then Mike McCarthy at least. All tho knowing T.T. he'd probably pick a name out of his magic hat.

Gruden would be a great hire, but I think he's going to make a name of himself in the booth. He's the next Madden IMO. It's also premature to expect McCarthy's demise.

Not big on the ZBS any longer. I'm all for attempting to make the move, but it's just not working with this group of players. The Packers have sacrificed the brute strength that once made them feared for more athletic and scrappy offensive lineman in order to run the ball better.

The result has been the exact opposite and finally the pass blocking is starting to take a hit.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
