If someone was to tell you Jennings didn't catch one pass yesterday would you believe them?

Absolutely. Unfortunately, PackerTraxx stole my thunder (+1 to you, by the way), but Greg Jennings is indeed vastly overrated in Packer Nation. There are several wide receivers with significantly better numbers than Jennings over the past three seasons.

And it only stands to reason anyway. When we can't establish a solid running or short passing game, opposing defenses are going tee off on Jennings. One of the reasons why Driver had such great numbers is they were double and triple teaming Jennings.

Nah he's not overrated - we just have lots of talent on our receiving core

National media = Packer Nation? Quite interesting there fella. Wrong.

On this board here we jokingly say absurd things about Jenning's greatness. IT'S A JOKE! No one thinks he's really Jesus Christ.

I like the part about WR having significantly better numbers, nice play! It's a fact that it takes WR time to adjust to the NFL level. You're throwing his rookie year in to that. Nice way to pad your theory. Just use the last two years, I'm sure there's a plethora of WR with better numbers too. I wonder just how many of those WR had another WR with over 1k receiving and a RB with more than 1200 yards rushing with a QB in his first year starting. Wait, lets not think about this in a wide spectrum!!!

Jennings is a top 10 WR. Did he perform like one Sunday? No, he played like a bottom 10 WR.

That was pretty much what I was going to say, but then in a slightly friendlier manner. +1

I want to add just one thing. You can hardly perform when you're in double coverage on short routes and triple coverage on deeper ones.

Like NSD mentioned, it opened up some other receivers and allowed Donald Driver to get his good amount of yardage. When Jennings draws this kind of coverage, you should benefit from that as a receiving core. Especially as a QB you should find some open receivers and don't stare down your main target too much.

after watching all the rest of the games on Sunday and Monday night...specifically the Pitts vs Chi, Boys vs NYC and last night's game...i was wondering if there wasn't a single player on our team NOT vastly over-rated. watching those other matches was like watching professional football. close games, hard-nosed, barely any penalties or mistakes...just good plays. then i thought back to our utter pile of shit as a game and thought "does our entire team aside from Woodson really suck complete dick? i mean, have we just been incredibly lucky the past couple years?"

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I can see how some could take the we love jennings thread comments literally. And you my friend, are guilty of taking things literal at times. 🙂 (so am I)

I plead guilty as charged. However, I also confess that I derive great lulz from the Jennings thread at times. We have some creative people on this forum.

If Jennings is double and triple covered, that SHOULD leave someone wide open.
I wonder if AR is getting like BF was with Sterling Sharpe? He would throw to Sharpe no matter how many guys were on him.
The thing is, we have DD and Nelson that would make plays.
Of course the O-line has to give AR enough time to FIND the open guy.

If Brett Favre were on this team, Jordy Nelson would already have a 1000 yards. And Jennings would probably have at least 8 touchdowns.
