I'd rather put Woodson at safety and play Tramon at corner.

I'm not so sure on that one. Woodson at strong safety wouldn't really fix the issue since it would be playing against his strengths to some degree. He should either be at corner playing some type of coverage or blitzing off the edge on the outside. He just doesn't have the same impact as Bigby does in run support, Bigby is a safety and Wood is a Corner.

I think Bigby is a decent safety, and Woodson is an awesome football player. Wood is whatever you need him to be. It's not as simple as saying Bigby is a safety and Woodson is a corner. Woodson is much more than "just" a corner.

True to some degree but, after seeing him play last season at Safety Woodson is a much more spectacular Corner than he is a Safety. I don't know if you realize that Bigby's role is a much more physical role and Woodson is physical, but he does lack the size to continuously hold up in run support which is a pretty major part of the SS role in the scheme or in any other scheme for that matter. If anything Woodson would be better fitted in Collins role but, not Bigby's...I mean seriously, compare the two. Collins is gonna play more pass coverage than Bigby who plays a lot more near the LOS than Collins. I don't know how you can see Woodson playing to his strengths as a SS. The logic doesn't make sense, it would be taking away one of strengths and depth if we moved Woodson and for all we know Rouse could play solid. He did fine last game, even if it wasn't for very long.

It was two of the biggest mistakes the Packers coaches made last year.

Moving Hawk inside and moving Woodson to SS. Each move ended up weakening two positions at one time.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

yes i do realize that. I'm not saying that Woodson should play safety. I'm just saying that comparing Bigby and his skillset to Woodson and his skillset is not fair to what Woodson brings to this team.

I would NOT put Woodson at safety. Why put a top 5 corner at strong safety? All that does is weaken our depth at corner because Blackmon would then have to play nickel. I would rather have 3 strong corners and have an enforcer (Bigby, Rouse) at strong safety.

To get your best players on the field. Injuries suck but they happen all the time. Another concept we should all get use to is that we are going to see more and more zone and the days of a differentiation of SS and FS are about to be over. I really don't give two shits about positions, put athletes and tacklers on the field. Why play and inferior player when you have options?

Tramon-Blackmon-Woodson-Collins in nickel situation is much worse than: Woodson-Tramon-Rouse-Collins.

What you want to do is make our best players start. But nickel CBs see a LOT of playing time, so it will make our team weaker. Not to mention Woodson probably won't do as well at SS, than he will at CB.
