I couldn't care less what he says in press conferences or whether or not he gets pissed.

Yelling at press conferences isn't going to fix the penalty problem.

What WILL fix it is if he started benching people, and or making them run until they puke. THAT gets players' attention.

I have come to grips with the fact that as long as Mike McCarthy is the coach, we will always be an undisciplined, average football team, that cannot correct mistakes.

Clifton had 4 pre-snap penalties and he doesn't get benched? With the score heavily in our favor, that would have been the perfect time to sit him and show the team that this shit will not be tolerated.

More evidence that the players don't take penalties seriously, was Barnett actually laughing after he was called for a blatant facemask. I didn't find it too funny myself.

I get the impression our players are tacitly -- perhaps even explicitly -- encouraged to get away with as many infractions as possible. ("It's only illegal if you get caught . . . ha ha ha!") I'm sure it happens on every team to some extent, but it just seems unusually pronounced and chronic on the packers. I'm beginning to think we need to accept that penalties are simply an unavoidable form of collateral damage that accompanies McCarthy's coaching style. I'll never agree with it, but I don't know what can be done about it. The refs walk into our games with their flags primed to throw. We had a penalty on the very first play of yesterday's game. Come on, now.

Clifton stays out and we are down 4 penalties a game. That is a hell of a start.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I certainly wouldn't bench the starting left tackle just to make a point. Now that Lang played well maybe it's something you do, but taking out the guy who is supposed to protect your QB just so you can be a tough guy coach is dumb.

With that said, I agree that the penalty situation is terrible and one of three big problems I see in this team. I also agree most of it falls on the head coach except..... not lining up right. That's on the player. They teach you how to line up on the ball when you're a kid. That's unacceptable.

Exactly. And Lang has already proved that he can fill in just fine. So leaving Clifton in the game after he repeatedly hurt the team with dumb mistakes, when there is someone on the bench that can do the job, is dumb.

Another game, more stupid penalties. I am told "penalties don't matter" You are making a big deal about nothing" "Stop complaining about penalties, you are not a Packers fan!"

Blah blah blah fucking blah.
