I know its a meaningless stat. But the Packers were the youngest in the nfl in 07 and they made it to the nfc championship 🙂 so if you look at it that way it can be a good thing lol.

I think "youngest team" is kind of misleading. Our defense is loaded with vets and we returned 10 of 11 starters from last years offense.

This passage made me chuckle:

The chart ranks teams oldest to youngest. The Cowboys (26.934), Bills (26.932) and Chargers (26.930) were about the same age, but their rankings differed. The teams that tied -- Cardinals and Patriots, Jets and Broncos -- had the same average ages to at least 13 decimal points.

They actually calculated these things to that many decimal points?

For some reason I thought the Cowboys would be older, and the niners younger. Meh..I mean whats the real difference between 26 and 27 anyway. Just another stat for us to talk about before the real season starts.

You can see how so many of these horrible teams are trying to plug their gaps with veterans. Just look at the NFC West. If I where the GM of such a team, I'd try to get as much young players in as I could. Dolphins style, pretty much.

Anyway, I think that we're in good position here. The Patriots are up by a year. If we keep on building like this, we might get into the same position. A lot of homegrown starters and the occasional low key free agent addition. I'm feeling really confident about this team. And if we don't get far in the play-offs this year, I'm pretty certain that we'll get further next year.

Btw. Does this say something about a lack of FA additions and building through the draft? Lol.

The 49ers had 33 of their own draft choices on their roster, tied with the Panthers and Colts for second-most in the league behind the Packers (37). The Seahawks (29), Cardinals (27) and Rams (24) had fewer.

We again have the youngest team, but look at it this way...our guys are maturing at the same time. The present AND future are indeed bright in Green Bay. Or I suppose we could hang Ted Thompson from the rafters of the Lambeau Field Atrium for not signing a bunch of free agents.

How completely ridiculous. 13 decimal places?

1 year = 31 556 926 seconds. This implies that each individual player's age is known to an accuracy of a microsecond. I guess they didn't learn anything about significant figures in high school.

I love the fact we're young yet experienced.

If you're good enough, you're old enough.

Not really surprising. Who is not on the 53 man from last year.

Tauscher(32), KGB(32), Martin(27), Humphrey(26), Moll(26), Frost(29),Lee(25),Cole(29).

And we didn't add any aged players at all. I also like that for the age we lost with the exception of Tauscher, the team is better off with the youth.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
