Nice TD by Jennings but it seemed to me our sure handed receivers didnt quite live up to their billing tonight. Jordy and Driver had a couple of drops each. They're known for their good hands. Had they stuck we may have walked it.

I hope this doesnt become a trend.

Maybe Jolly can give them some tips, that was a sweet one handed INT he pulled of.

Did this game remind any one else of the season opener vs the vikings last year?

Good call. That was also a Sunday night game at Lambeau, against a divisional rival, that was much more defense-oriented than expected, with the Packers winning.

That game is also a reminder that winning the first game doesn't mean anything if you can't follow it up. The Vikings ended up winning the division while the Packers went 6-10.

Charles Woodson did not look like the Charles Woodson we are used to. I'm sure this was just a bad game for him, but damn... He got burnt a few times and missed some makeable tackles. He wasn't terrible, but I guess I have set higher standards for him.

Nathan Vasher and Jay Cutler - how will they sleep tonight?

How bout the Bear's LS? Dumb call.

It wasn't dumb in hindsight. What really happened was -

Greg Jennings gave the long snapper "the look" - the look that means, call it or I get six now instead of later.

Can't blame the guy - if I got the look i'd just hide in admiration.

The official drop count was five, I think. Only one or two of them were blatant drops, though. The timing of the passing game was off and a lot of the passes were slightly off-target. If the O-line can get its act together, we won't be seeing so many drops.

Hell, I thought the Packers played a phenomenal game out there. SO many improvements from last season, I was impressed.

Mr. "Pro Bowl QB," Cutler was absolutely lost and confused all night long. And I don't think he played all that much better in the 2nd half either, the bears were just being a lot more conservative. 22 attempts in the 1st half - like 10 in the 2nd. And only like 2 out of those 10 of those passes went more than 10 yards in the air. And sure enough, one pass - one interception once the bears needed to move down field quickly. Our D hasn't looked this good in a very long time.

And lets face it, if our offense played as bad as they did today last year, there's no way in hell we would have had a shot at winning. I mean we had trouble stopping the LIONS last year. We couldn't stop anybody! What a huge, huge, huge, difference Mr. Capers has made!

And remember, our offense was going up against the stingy Bears D. No easy task for any team. I mean, the bears are team who won virtually all of their games last year on scum points. You know, scum points...defensive touchdowns, safeties, kick returns, blocked field goals as time expires to send the game into ot....you know, virtually anything that doesn't have to do with offense. Our offense proved they are at least capable of being great in the preseason...

And hey! Our offense came through in the end! That certainly never happened last year! Last year we would have tried to run out the clock and give super kicker a shot at a 55 yard miracle game winner. But wow, what a play call on the play action! Executed beautify.

Our special teams didn't look so bad either after finishing dead last in kick returns a season ago.

So say want you want about what negatives there were, I think most of the bad things said here can be fixed with some minor adjustments, I saw a solid performance in the areas that count toward a consistent, successful season. 🙂

Rodgers was a little innaccurate today too though, but still, Jordy's for example was just stupid.

I hated him, to put it bluntly. He played terribly, imo. Even on the plays he didn't give up a sack he was being dominated. The only reason that he didn't give up more sacks the second half was the extra help he got from tight ends and rb's.

Maybe he played better in the preseason(I didn't watch any games). I hope he was just like that tonight, but I think we should look for some help. Collinsworth in all his great wisdom said we should resign Tauscher.

Maybe he's finally right about something. But what do you think? Sign, trade, or is there even a chance at either of those two things to get a tackle these days. I honestly have no clue I just think we might be needing it soon.

I think they'll need to give Giacomini a second look during practice this week and probably activate him against the Bengals. He couldn't really have done any worse than how Barbre played against Ogunleye tonight.

Hopefully Bigby isn't to hurt and we'll get Raji back next week. None of the other injuries the Packers D suffered tonight seemed serious.

god that was a rough one, eh? about the last type of game i was hoping for while hanging out with the gf's family for the first time (well, my lady had the foresight to hang out with them briefly at a bar the night before so it would be less daunting today).

two letters which bum me out: A.B. yikes. i'm sure you've already said what's to be said. A-Rodge didn't have much of a chance to do anything all night.

but goddamn what a fucking last-minute come-back. fucking shit my pants and screamed at the tv "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR CALLING A FAKE FUCKING PENALTY ON HARRIS, BITCH!"

lulz. well, at least we got the first one under our hats. let's improve and move on, i say.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.
