Bears vs Packers oh my..

What aspect of the Bears football team concerns you the most in this early season tilt?

Is is Cutler and his arm?

Forte and that large offensive line?

Or is it the over-rated on and his every becoming toothless defense?

For me.. I think we will shred this defense over the course of the game, I see us handling the pressure in all aspects with the only question really being can Barbre handle it all game long.

Forte to me is more hyped than he should be.. solid back, but for those statniks out there.. Grant and Forte had just about identical stats.. some will point to the Bears toothless attack via the air.. but watching footage of Forte again.. one word pops to mind. Over-rated.

Cutler.. Sorry I am not sold on the kid yet.. but I have to admit this is the one wildcard we haven't see from the Bears.. a QB that can actually go vertical and has something to launch the football with more zip than a talented high school quarterback. ;)

Anyway.. I think that is the one area that might concern me this coming week.. albeit, I just don't hold the Bears team in the same high regard that others going into the season. Marked as a team that made a mistake in letting Rivera go from that defense.

So what concerns you with this weekends matchup?

Forgot one.. Hester maybe. 😉

If I make the usually wrong assumption that everything on football depends on the QB then the timing for this game is perfect for us. Rodgers is in synch with the team, the receivers, the offense. Cutler may not.

I main concern is the D's ability to make game changing plays. They have had a knack for it over the last handful of years and it is annoying as hell.

My second concern is Forte. I'm worried that our D is still vulnerable with dink and dunks to the RB.

My third concern is Cutler, but that's a minor concern.

#1 concern is stopping the run, we got torched by Beanie Wells

#2 is if they have Hester returning kicks this year

#3 Can we count on Crosby to make kicks

#4 Being to over confident because of the success in the preseason
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Don't forget, the bears & hester have decided that he will no longer be doing kick returns in order to focus on becoming a better receiver. All that does is take a huge threat away from the bears, and does us as packers fans a huge favor.

I guess he is still returning punts, but hey, if this preseason meant anything we won't have to worry about punting too much 😉.

Yea, you're right, Hester not returning kicks anymore is a huge relief. That was the one thing that always scared me about the Bears, there ability to take a kick back at any time.

but hester is returning punts and i have a feeling he will be back on kickoffs, also remember the guy they had back there can still take it to the house.

I believe it was Manning

The ONLY thing that concerns me is fear of the unknown.
What i mean is, the past several years, we KNEW what to expect from "Wrecks" and Orton.
They have Cutler now, and i don't really know alot about him.

I think they should be concerned with matching up with the big five or double tight ends. They're offense is middle of the league good, but we have a tendancy to give away points to them on unpredictable plays.

I think the game plan will be to keep them in their nickel and dime packages as much as possible and keep the strength of their team (linebacker) off the field.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
