Tavaris will not be a Packer.

Vikings will not trade him to us.
Vikings cut him, there is about 8 teams in front of us that will have the option of selecting him.

If cut, there's a slim chance, but our only chance.

I don't see it happening. I think the Lions would take him if given the option. What kind of offense do they run?

I don't think he is worth a trade for GB, but we if we can get him off waivers that would be good to the QB depth because we will have an experience QB . Lions will probably make a run for him since they want to be the next Tampa Bay Bucs.

Trades are often made on cutdown day, when two teams each have a player that they are going to cut but the other one would like to have. Then each team can get the player they want without any other teams having a shot at taking the player off the waiver wire. I know Ted Thompson has made those kinds of trades in recent years, and I'm expecting it to happen again this year. (I would love to see him trade one of our extra fullbacks for a decent third-string tight end, for example, or maybe a D-lineman.)

It doesn't seem likely that the Vikings would trade Jackson within the division, though.

Grant was aquired Sept 1 if I recall correctly. Teams make last preseason trades all the time.

I would take him. But we've been through that.

It'll never happen, if for no other reason than the Queens will move heaven and earth to prevent it in retribution for our poison pill clause last year that kept them from getting Favre.

But I bet he'd be a damn fine backup and a couple years with our coaches would probably turn him into a beast.

Wow... so Rosenfels or Booty is the future of the Vikings then? Unless they draft/get a QB somewhere else. That's stupid. About what I expect from that organization at this point.
