Woodson: Packers can win it all
Charles Woodson said hes never been more excited entering a season, and the sky is the limit for the 2009 Packers.

"Weve got a chance at winning the whole thing, I believe," said Woodson after the Packers jog-through practice Sunday. "Still got a long way to go. Were not there yet, but we have a chance."

When asked if other players share his sentiments, Woodson said: "I dont know, it doesn't matter. That's my answer and I'll ride with it."

So why is Woodson so enthusiastic? It starts with the new 3-4 scheme. The way Woodson sees it, bringing in defensive coordinator Dom Capers and a new staff was like adding an impact free agent.

"I think bringing him in, bringing the scheme, the 3-4, and then those coaches, is definitely the biggest acquisition this year," said Woodson, who forced three fumbles against Arizona in the Packers preseason game Friday night.

The difference between last year and this year is like night and day.

"This defense, there's so many different packages, so many different ways you can attack an offense. You can keep an offense on their heels, as long as everybody knows what they're doing, their assignments. Its tough for teams to pick that up. Theres a lot to this defense. I think weve handled the transition pretty well."

If it were up to Woodson, the season would start right now.

"With Dom coming in, this new scheme, I dont think Ive ever been more excited, or more ready to get the season underway than this year," he said.

As long as the D can stay a little above average..We're there. We just need them to not be an open gate like they were last year.

Let's see ...

these statements coming from one of - if not the best back in the league. Whom has been with us awhile now.

I'm with woodson - we got a nice chance to win it all. I am so pumped about our D this year. Much much improved. If we do take it all dom will be labeled a genius 😉

Sounds like Woodson may lose his composure after a big play and give a vigorous handshake.

He's the f'ing man. If he's excited, it gets me even more excited.

Even last year, had the D been in the range of #15 or so, we probably would have been in the PO. Get the D to the top 10 range, and we should win the division easily.

The offense is capable of scoring with the best of them, so the defense doesn't need to pitch shutouts to win.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Plus if the D is able to give the O short fields to work with, it makes our offense that much more potent.

I'm always amazed at how jacked up I can get simply from reading that other fans are jacked up. Woot!

I love Woody - I thought he was the shit in college and when we picked him up I was flat-out shocked. Still am, if I think about it.

Yep, that settles it - my new Packers jersey just plain HAS to be Woodson.

I really like how woodson plays but to tell you the truth Harris is my fav corner on the team; used to love watching his man coverage last year and watching him dominate the guy ... just sticking to him like glue and making him wish he wasnt a WR. The guy is intense.
