Did anyone watch the Bears vs. Denver on Sunday night? I caught most of the first half, and I was impressed with Jay Cutler. I've always thought he was a very good young QB. He really zings the ball in there. The Bears also had a long punt return by Devin Hester. I think they will be a tough opponent for us, as usual. I think the Packers will be better, but the Bears will once again be one of those teams that can rise up and beat just about anyone.

Didn't watch the game, only highlights. From what that showed, while cutler was composed, he didn't do much his first two series or most of the first qtr, but did have a good 2nd.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Man, that stadium was bouncing and was probably the loudest it's been since it's inception, there was no shortage of Boos for Jay last night. Denver's defense was out for blood in the first quarter. Dumerville got a roughing the passer call for a late hit on Jay. the Bears starting defense once again only gave up a mere field goal. Orlando Pace had a bad game and was getting beat outside by the undersized LB. Cutler had it rough the first two series being pinned deep in Bears territory, in the second quarter him and his "no-name" Wrs drove 98 yards capped off with a short pass for a td to Forte(Bears 17,Broncos 3)Orton left the game with a papercut on his finger and Denvers 3rd QB came in. Early on Denver players were dropping like flys including one of their talented O-linemen. Denvers defense looked descent early on but the Bears offense adjusted and after that it was all over for the Broncos. Hesters return was sweet and he was about 5 yards from paydirt.

I noticed how unprepaired the bears O line looked. Denvers D was chasing him all over the field. Unless they fix something soon it may be a long season for their new QB.

Yeah they were trying to get asack/safety on jay, it almost happenned but jay's the kind of QB that can checkdown before it happens. The Bears starting O-line hasn't given up a sack yet though and after adjustments were made jay looked fairly comfortable in the pocket just like in the Giants game. i thinbk the Bears O-line will be fine and many are underestimating them early on.

If I remember right it almost happened a few times. Maybe 3 in the end zone. I remember 2 throws away and one was a check down. I may not be remembering it exactly as it happened. I was watching it off and on. Anyway...The point was that the O line looked ill prepared to stop them. There may have to be some shuffling of the line before the season starts so Cutler can have more than a second in the pocket. Cutler is mobile but the pressure could be enough to keep the scoring low. It's still preseason so I'm sure it will be worked out before the season starts.

You are correct in the first two Bears possessions Cutler was pinned deep in his own end zone and Pace was getting beat on the left side by Dumerville. Dumerville actually had Jay wrapped around the waist at one point but Cutler dumped it to Forte to save the play and his ass, but like I said before, after the adjustments were made in the second quarter by the Bears offense, he had the comfort in the pocket to make some big plays and the line looked pretty good. That 98 yard drive in itself was pretty amazing just because I can't remember the last time I saw a Bears QB pull such a feat off, can you? Green Bay will be a huge test for the Bears O-line to see what kind of effort they'll get throughout the season. I can't wait for "real" football to start
