We were an excellent turnover defense last year, but we were still torched when it counted -- at the ends of games. I'd rather our defense hit base hits (tackle) consistently than swing for the fences (strips and interceptions) every time they step up to the plate.

Watched the first half again this morning. Fitzgerald is possibly the best WR in the NFL and it showed last night as he did some serious damage to our 1st team D. Other than that they didn't do a whole lot. Hawk almost made an incredible play on Wells' TD run, splitting two blockers with a diving tackle attempt. Wells had to kick it more outside, but nobody was there to take care of business.

Just another 2c.

I finally saw my first preseason game this moringin and I watched the first half.

I did not see a great defense, I saw them getting gashed and Arizona dropping passes.

yes they had a bunch of turnovers, but I would like to see them stuff people first and foremost.

We held one of the most explosive offenses in the league to 10 points in the first half when it mattered. I'll take that.

I thought this was a very good game for the coaches. A lot of good things but plenty of areas for the coaches to coach and tighten up. Remember, except for Smith they are all learnig and will continue to improve as everyting becomes more natural and instinctive.

I think the thing we have to realize is if the pressure gets their we arent talking about the middle of the field being open. When you blitz you are playing with fire, and if you dont get there its asking for trouble.

I would like to see how the Zone fares without all the blitzing. While the passes didnt happen where Woodson would have been, the rest of the D still has to compensate for that and cover the other half now.

Even though the starting D gave up only 10 points, there were times when the D did not look very good. There were several large gains by the AZ starting 11. (none like GB's gains.) It could have been worse. Keep in mind that 2 of AZ's 1000 yard wideouts did not play.

Having LB's chase a fleet WR is just sad. I know that the idea is to pressure the QB so he doesn't have time to find the WR and the S is suppose to cover deep but it is still a concern.

The starting defense still looked great last night. Any problems can be attributed to pre-season rust, the restricted playbook being used and (at least last night) the headset problems.

Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : post june is $7m cap hit with $17m saving
Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : oops meant $10m cap hit
Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : And pre june is $10m savings
Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : Can't make him play.

Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : Joey Bosa signed with Bills?
dfosterf (12-Mar) : What they are offering is a left over case of Leinies from the Chippewa Falls plant
Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : 27, 59, 91, 129 gets you Jaire and our 3rd

beast (12-Mar) : Yes, the Ravens have draft picks
dfosterf (12-Mar) : Good luck to him.
Zero2Cool (12-Mar) : Eric Stokes signs with Raiders
Martha Careful (11-Mar) : Tyler Linderbaum C
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : Cap space?
Zero2Cool (11-Mar) : Do Ravens have anything we'd even entertain to have?
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : I've seen trade ideas of Jaire going to the Ravens all offseason
beast (11-Mar) : A probably false rumor is suggesting CB Jaire Alexander is being traded to the Ravens, again probably false
beast (11-Mar) : Commanders might have a dominant offense the next 3 years at least
Zero2Cool (11-Mar) : San Francisco 49ers announced they have released DL Leonard Floyd.
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : Er getting traded twice like that
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : Huh, LT Laremy Tunsil traded from Houston to Washington. Never heard of a top OT getting traded in his career like that
Martha Careful (11-Mar) : Minnesota Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. is returning on a three-year, $66 million deal
