Updating a previous item, Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews (hamstring) will not play in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 28. Matthews was limited in practice Wednesday, Aug. 26. Matthews said, "No trouble at all, felt 100 percent. Obviously, we were being (cautious) on it. We're just trying to break it in easily, but at times I felt myself going pretty hard. So that was positive and encouraging news going into next week."

I find myself wondering if precisely because Brohm has some confidence issues, the team might be riding him a little harder, which could be contributing to a vicious circle. I know I rode the wimpier of my twins a lot harder for the first couple years of his life, and it's greatly contributed to his maturity. He's become the dominant twin and the bigger one has discovered he enjoys deferring to him. But life sure was miserable until the littler one got it. I'm sure Brohm is miserable at the moment, but I think he can round the bend and find the light at the end of the tunnel.

With Flynn not practicing again Wed., looks like Brohm will get another chance with the 2nd team after the starters are pulled Friday.

The only way to learn from your mistakes is to make them. I'd rather he struggles in practice and pre-season.

Bottom line Brohm is not ready for NFL regular season action, but The Packers do have time and money invested in him, so I don't see him going anywhere but 3rd string emergency qb.(Yes most every team in the NFL has one, and Brohm fits that bill right now.)

I love the fact that some on this forum find glee in the fact that they think they are right and bash a kid who is just trying to live his dream and become an NFL qb.

The management chooses these players, the coaches are going to do everything possible to get them ready.

I myself will support anyone on the roster until they are no longer on the roster, others have to have whipping boys almost hoping they don't succeed, so they can run around like children saying "see I told you so, I told you so".

So be it.

What's that I hear? The hooves of the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse? Buckeyepackfan and I actually agree on something! I personally take infinitely more pleasure in saying "I told you so" for believing in a player like Aaron Rodgers or Matt Flynn to be great than a player like Brian Brohm to struggle. It seems pernicious to me to take a snide glee in the struggles of one's own team.

Thank you for asking! Pernicious anemia (also known as Biermer's anemia, Addison's anemia, or Addison-Biermer anemia) is a form of megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B-12 deficiency, caused by impaired absorption of vitamin B-12 due to the immune destruction of intrinsic factor in the setting of atrophic gastritis, and more specifically of loss of gastric parietal cells.

meh. no snide glee from my part. if anything i'm rolling my eyes thinking "come on kid, snap out of it". i'm much more concerned that Rodgers stays healthy than i am about Brohm not proving himself.

Precisely. He's the third stringer so he can have the time to suck.
