Why trade someone that old? yes he number 2 receiever but it seems like a duff trade to me. If the Defense is not going to improve much from the 3-4 change. You need all your weapons on offense to keep games in touch.

i checked my calender and its not april fools

the two bits which interested me the most were these:

FB Korey Hall and FB John Kuhn appear to be competing for a roster spot since FB Quinn Johnson is a good bet to make the team. Hall gained a significant edge over Kuhn because of his performance in the team's first preseason game.

SS Aaron Rouse (hamstring) suffered during practice Thursday, Aug. 20, appeared to be serious. Head coach Mike McCarthy did not know the severity of the injury.

that's really exciting to hear that Quinn has made such an impact. i'd love to see him starting with Grant and see what kind of opportunities to break away from the line of scrimmage he can get since that seems to be Grant's biggest problem. once he makes it past the gates...whoa boy he's dangerous!

and godDAMMIT. Rouse. that kid was really appearing to start breaking out and with Bigby still fuckered up (he is still injured, no?) what the hell we gonna do? is Collins set to go? what do we have here for choices? yar i'm a bit worried.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I disagree that Quinn has made such an impact... he's still the 3rd best FB (out of 3 ) .... it's just that he has higher potential and is a draft pick so he gets a roster spot to sit and learn. I think Hall is better all around OTHER than power block and power running.... but Quinn is the best power blocker (or will be after he gets some NFL time under his belt and learns to hit the hole harder, faster and lower) and power running is for the RBs...

I honestly don't think Rouse has breaking out since his rookie year where he was making big plays (but also risking a heck of a lot too)... He just doesn't play smart... he always goes for the huge plays even when there is a slim chance of making them work and he's risking giving up a huge play too.... Collins has no one pushing him he's easily the starter but Bigby could be fighting for his spot with Smith.

Also I think they should move Blackmon to S to beat out Bush and keep Underwood at CB. And if they really want another player like Rouse; the Texans just cut S Troy Nolan who's a lot like Rouse but a tad smaller and maybe not as talented... but they play the same way, about the same size and are a lot a like on the field.

If it comes down to it, Quinn can be placed on injured reserve.

sprained finger, sprained toe, or anything they care to make up.

Rouse may start the season on the PUP and return mid season.

Jarret Bush is always there.

Packers | Poppinga has edge for starter at ROLB

Tom Pelissero and Rob Demovsky, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has not declared LB Brady Poppinga the starter at right outside linebacker, but he acknowledged it will be tough for LB Clay Matthews or LB Jeremy Thompson to surpass him.

that's fine. pop has played well enough, from what i've seen. would've been great to see thompson make a huge push, shock the world, and become a great LB this season. it also would've been nice to see Matthews come into the league, legs churning, arms ripping, and hair flying, shock the world, and become a great LB in the NFL this season.... but these are basically just fantasies. I have been satisfied with Pop's play so far. Let Matthews dominate next year.
