Think of this folks which is very scary, Brett went to the Jets last year and helped Jones become the NFL's leading rusher because teams planned to stop the pass. Now he goes to the Vikes with the NFL's best running back so i'm predicting you will see AP go over the 2000 yard mark.
The people that ask how can this make the Vikes better just have the blinders on and are scared of the thought of the Vikes in the Super Bowl.
Then again i think this is where all the hate is coming from towards Lord Favre.

FAIL. As always. I know you live for playing devil's advocate, but you might at least construct your arguments out of something more sturdy than tissue paper.

There are - TOPS - 3-4 posters here who are "hating" at all. The rest of us have already said we wish him luck, at least when he's not playing the Pack. FAIL.

Most of us have already clearly stated the reasons that make us feel that there's no guarantee his addition to the team means they're Super Bowl bound, and those reasons are rational and based in reality. FAIL.

And could you please, PLEASE come up with an alternative phrase to "people gots the blinders on"? Please?

In summary: F.A.I.L.

(Oh - I should add that I'm not disagreeing about AD benefiting from this - that's actually the smartest thing you've posted in months. Him having a great year doesn't win the team a Super Bowl, though - he has great years every year.)

dhazer asked if the Vikings got a Cars for Clunkers type discount when they signed Favre.

I don't think Brett Favre is as effective as he was. He's not the three time MVP anymore. He's a regressing player and dhazer is talking like it's 1995.

Look at his last four years.

Three have been average to bad.

The only good one stands out as a potential fluke. Nobody will say it, but you have to wonder if that was his last go at it which more than likely is the case. I think Favre will put up similar numbers that he did last year. 20 TDs and 20 INTs or something to that extent. Peterson will run for 2,000 yards this year in my opinion, but not because of Brett Favre, but because he's that good. Teams will gameplan to stop him over Favre anyday.

It's not so much that Favre might not be able to beat them, but Minnesota's receivers are also not that good. Even the Jets had better receivers last year.

"Vikings" and "Super Bowl win" in the SAME SENTENCE???
That just makes me laugh.
I'm not afraid of that happening. If Favre is such a big deal for the Vikings, answer this. If AP is the center of their O (which he is) what difference does it make WHO is handing the ball off to him?
I mean.......T-Jack was at least somewhat elusive. Favre is SLOOOOOW now. Thats NOT a knock on him, i mean, he's gonna be 40! What 40 year old QB ISN'T slow? And he's playing on turf most of his games now. My wife (who LOVES Favre) is saying she is VERY worried that he's gonna get hurt badly this year.
Yes....i know......it's not my or her choice if he plays. But that doesn't mean i can't worry about the old man's health. TRUE fans of his WOULD be worried.
If the Vikings win the SB this year with Favre as QB, i'll dance down the street in my underware.
