In 1929, the Green Bay Packers won the NFL championship with a record of 12 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie.

Ties did not count in the standings at the time, making the Packers (arguably) the first team to have a "perfect" record, some 43 years prior to the so-called "first" undefeated team, the Miami Dolphins.

In the tie game, does anyone know what the final score was?

Good answer.

22 points scored on us in that year. No team got more than 6 points on us in any one game. We scored 192 points. Maybe Mercury Morris doesn't count that as a "perfect" season, but I would bet that the guys that played defense for us did.

This is one of many reasons you must release yourself from the dark side.

After all, who but a Packer fan can say, "Ah, 1929...What a great year!"

Can anyone say, "portent"?
