My only problem is that if we did bring back Brett, it's not like the defense would suddenly not get injuries thanks to his amazing presence. We'd probably not make it to the Super Bowl thanks to it also. Then we'd have to deal with Brett Favre going "Maybe, maybe not" again and again, and Rodgers being a Free Agent. So we'd have, what, 1 more year with Favre and no future QB? Not to mention no Super Bowl because of piss poor defense?

I don't think we would have had to put up with that, if we sucked like we did last year he would call it quits i believe and we could also have paid Rodgers. Btw Ninja i'm trying to figure out you, your a Packer fan and a Yankee fan thats 2 totally different styles of managment. One spends tons of cash on big names and the other won't spend money they have.

Also i know i'm a genius 😛

I know, that is why I think it makes a neat avatar for the baseball season. Except, you got it wrong. The packers pay players who deserve it and don't go off spending money on a big FA who may be past his prime, and the Yankees pay because they can 😛.

Anyway, back to subject. Did you just say favre would have known that the packers would suck before even starting the season? That is what I'm reading. And even if we had the money, who says Rodgers wouldn't get a starter spot somewhere else with the same/more amount of money? It was all too much of a gamble and Ted Thompson did the safest thing.

Ninja on the Rodgers subject he was still under contract thru this year so he couldn't go anywhere. But back to Brett and the bad season. What i meant if he played and had a bad season i think he would call it quits.

He would have still been under contract thru this up coming season. But it really don't matter now, but i think it could have been a solution to all of this, might not have worked but hey in my mind would have been worth a shot. Would have saved face i believe for the franchise.

I think its funny how much anger certain fans have towards Favre. They say they don't but everytime they can cut him down they do. But i can bet my left nut if he was still the qb of the Packers and we were winning people wouldn't be saying this shit. Oh well i guess they need something to bitch about, makes me wonder what would be said about god Jennings if he goes somewhere else.

Oh I don't have a built up emotional bank towards Brett himself.. personally I don't "feel" the same betrayal that some seem to. Players come and players go.. in the end of the day I wish the long term players nothing in the end but to decide when the time is right to go for them.

Brett did that on a certain level in Green Bay.. apparently he felt it was time to hang them up in the tearful presser.. he changed his mind.. but so did the Packers.. how can one be able to and the other not?

But back to point.. I do however loathe the whole turmoil that Packer nation seems to find itself in.. the nonstop debate and arguing of the same old topics..

I wish I could kick this addiction of mine for a couple of months.. damn Packers anyways.

Still though, I think what Ted Thompson did was right. Though he was under contract he could have demanded a trade. Not to mention, if your argument is that Favre would have retired on a bad season, look at him now. He didn't even make it to the playoffs. They made Aaron Rodgers the man, and letting favre back in as automatic starter would make the system look really, really weak.

dfosterf (1h) : PFOW Out of our division would be a good thing imo
Zero2Cool (3h) : Jameson Williams is done at 24 years old? What? He's a WR, not QB. I'm missing something here haha
wpr (3h) : Tomorrow is almost here.
packerfanoutwest (4h) : would you want him if Pack needed a back up qb?
packerfanoutwest (4h) : JW is done......stick a fork in him
Zero2Cool (5h) : You should. He goes to AFC that helps Packers.
packerfanoutwest (16h) : don't care
Zero2Cool (21h) : Lions shopping Jameson Williams?
packerfanoutwest (22-Apr) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : It's a poor design. New site has SignalR like our gameday chat

wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
