Young says he wants Titans' starting QB job back or out of Tennessee NFL.com wire

Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher has said all offseason that Kerry Collins is the Titans' starting quarterback. And if that's the case when the 2009 season starts, Vince Young wants to play elsewhere.

Young, who lost the starting job to Collins last season, told WMAR-TV in Baltimore on Monday that he wants it back next season.

"If them guys don't want me to be in there, it's time for me to make a career change," Young said. "... If they're not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is."

Not the brightest guy. I wish him all the best though. He has enough talent, if only he could make it work a little better in the game.

I wonder where he'll end up if he gets released. The trade value will probably be pretty minimal. Maybe he'll go to the 49ers for a 6th round pick or something. They like to keep their best QB, Shaun Hill, out of the game as much as possible.

Maybe the Vikings are interested. Charles and Nick would like that very much, I think.

I think he still has a shot as an NFL quarterback. One thing he needs to realize is he cannot ourun everyone in the NFL. Maybe at some point against some teams, he can run circles around them but the NFL is a different story. You can't just pull the ball down and run right up the middle like you did in college.
Once he gets this through his head, he can and should be a successful quarterback. I think he would succeed in Minnesota.

I think this is a prime example of not being emotionally mature enough to play in the NFL.. great athlete.. just doesn't seem to have it together composure wise to be an effective leader at this level... AFL or Canada maybe.. away from the intense spotlight.
