Rodgers' record has to do with this thread how? Unless you're implying a QB should be judged based on wins and losses then we'd have to get in a debate about Joe Flacco being one of the better QB's in the game today. Certainly better than the likes of Drew Brees based on that logic. Right?
That above stuff was somewhat sarcastic by the way.
He was giving a deal because Thompson's future is tied into his. Basically if Rodgers fails, Thompson is 100% gone. Rodgers can now focus in on football and play his game. His future is set and that's something I would've done if I were Ted Thompson. Keep your guy content.
GB has cap and they didn't spend it. Alert the press. This is what Thompson does. He's done it for along time now.
I certainly think he should've used free agency this year and I don't like that he didn't, but I do understand the logic behind wanting to resign some key core players first.
However, there is room for to go out and sign a key player in free agency and signing a free agent such as Chris Canty as an EXAMPLE.
I certainly don't want a GM to conservative like some are in here, but I certainly don't want one over aggressive line some are.
