Team records

Most NFL Championships - 12 GREEN BAY PACKERS

Most Super Bowl Wins - 6 Pittsburg Steelers. 49ers and Cows both have 5. We only have 3. :(

Most wins in a season - 16 New England Patriots 2007. (Ha ha, they didn't win the SB that year). :thumbright: Packers had 4 13 wins seasons.

Perfect season (no losses or ties) - 1972 Miami Dolphins

Individual records

Rushing Yards - Emmitt Smith (2 teams, primarily Dallas) 18,355
Rushing TDs - Emmitt Smith 164

Passing Yards - Brett Favre (3 teams, primarily Green Bay) 65127
Passing TDs - Brett Favre 464

Receiving Yards - Jerry Rice (3 teams, primarily Niners) 22895. James Lofton used to have this at the time of his retirement.

Receiving TDs - Jerry Rice 197

Total TDs - Jerry Rice 208

Most points Single Season - LaDainian Tomlinson 186 (2006, San Diego Chargers). Paul Horning owned this record for 44 years, but I knew it was just a matter of time before someone breaks it once we went to 16 games in a season.

Most points Career - Morten Andersen 2,544 (5 teams, mostly Saints and Falcons). I remember George Blanda had this stat forever, but I was hoping Jan Stenerud would pass him up because he played four years with us.

Morten Anderson. That's quite a record, such a shame that he missed that one kick when it mattered the most. Or, really, it wasn't such a shame looking at the team. It's just that it's the most well known point of his career for me, while he had an amazing one.

I think that you made a little mistake on the Emmitt Smith one, btw. As much as I dislike it, I asume it has to say Cowgirls.

And Favre, 65127 yards. That's really a sick amount if you just think of it.

Heh. Whoops, I should really proofread when I submit.

Fixed.

Yeah, I wonder how long the Anderson record will hold. Blanda's seemed to last forever. And 65127, yeah, I hope that one holds for awhile.

If that "team" that you are referring to there Rock is the Vikings.........then I think that you might have your Anderson /Andersen's confused. (A lot of people get them mixed up).

In 1998, Gary Anderson signed with the Minnesota Vikings and converted all 35 of his attempted field goals and all 59 extra points in regular season play, becoming the first placekicker to finish the regular season with a 100% success rate on both field goals and extra points.

However, Anderson would miss his most crucial attempt of the season in the NFC Championship Game vs. the Atlanta Falcons. With the Vikings leading 27-20 with 2:07 left in the 4th quarter, Anderson lined up for a 38-yard field goal to give them a two possession lead. A converted kick would have, barring a miracle, delivered the Vikings to their first Super Bowl in 22 years.
The missed kick gave the Falcons a chance, and they took full advantage of it by traveling down the field and scoring the tying touchdown sending the game to overtime. The Falcons would then win the game in overtime on, ironically, a 38-yard kick by Morten Andersen.

Did ya catch the last part...."The Falcons would then win the game in overtime on, ironically, a 38-yard kick by Morten Andersen."

That has got to be the most pissed off that I have ever been about a football game.

Hah, thanks Vikes. I did indeed. Comes with only reading and watching clips over really experiencing it.

And I can imagine that being a real heartbreaker. I'd be quite dissapointed aswell.

Go watch the episode called 'Little Minnesota' of 'How I Met Your Mother'. It pretty much defines what we went through.

The instant Morten Andersen booted that ball, I got a call from one of my Packer friends, and the first thing he said was 'Uh oh!' I was so mad, I could've cried.. lol

You forgot one of Favres stats but I fixed it for you and if you remember correctly that last one in Green bay really mattered and really pissed some people off. Also Brett, Emmitt and Rice played longer than almost evrybody at their respected positions . They are all great but Barry would've had Emmitts record in way less time behind a way shittier O-line. Favre played nearly a full extra season more than Dan to break Marinos records and Jerry Rice well I can't say much about him, he's just the greatest WR ever even though he played way too long. The broncos Raiders and seahawks WTF were ya thinking Jerry?.

I was up north with my wife when that game was on TV. I watched the end of it in a store front. I actually felt sorry for a friend of mine who is a Viking fan.
I actually waited a few days before i talked to him, so he would have time to calm down.
His response was Viking fan typical. He said "Well, it was better that they broke my heart now then to do it in the Super Bowl, like they have done so many times before." I actually didn't even rub it in! I felt SO bad for the guy!
