Do you think Ted Thompson does not like to do this or is it something else?

That thought has a lot of validity to it. In my example with Clevland they did better than expected the following year hence the Cowgirls got a lower pick than anticipated(somehow I don't feel sorry for them) However, this year Clevland was back in the tank and one would have gotten a higher than anticipated pick. So point well taken.

The reason I thought of this is because the Pats seems to constantly stockpile picks and have been very successsful using them as needed by having ammo to trade up or trading down again and getting more picks.

I think Ted Thompson does makes the best move for the moment.

He's said he's traded down in the past because he felt there were no outstanding players for any given point in a draft so if was beneficial to get more picks.

This year he was a kid in the candy store.

Why do people try to read more into all this than there really is?
