Nine top prospects will attend Day 1 of the 2009 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 25, the league announced Monday. WR Michael Crabtree, LB Aaron Curry, LB Brian Cushing, QB Josh Freeman, T Eugene Monroe, T Michael Oher, DE Brian Orakpo, T Jason Smith and QB Matthew Stafford will be the biggest group of prospects to attend the draft since 11 players attended the 1996 NFL Draft.

Where is BJ Raji? I wanted to see somebody hold up the Green Bay jersey and wear the hat....Andre Smith isn't going to be there either. Oh well, I'll get over it.

Josh Freeman? I heard they're inviting people with "interesting story lines" too, not just the top prospects. Freeman is going to be sitting there forever though. I wonder if he has to come back and sit in that room the 2nd day too.

He's a QB, he will be reached bigtime based on some good showings at pro days and what not, I'm afraid. I'd go with his college production aswell, but that doesn't seem to matter that much anymore all of a sudden. :p

I actually think that Oher might be sitting there longer than Freeman. Oher, I wouldn't mind standing there with a Packers jersey if we trade back a bit.

Freeman is overrated due to his workouts and I wouldn't mind grabbing Oher at #9.

since smith, monroe and curry will be gone, i'd love to see oher wearing green and gold after pick 9.

i think it'll come down to a sitting contest between freeman und mr. steroid, brian cushing.

The problem with most of the LBers in the top tier of the drafts IMO they dont really fit the mold of a OLBer in a 3-4. Orakpo looks good for that; people have been tearing down brown of late because of him being from florida and only rushing the passer ... (and my thoughts are following suit especially when he 'lied' about his height also 6'1 compared to whats listed at 6'4).
Seems like alot of guys add a few inches on

Sintim.

Go Raji or Oher with pick 9 (With a potential trade back for Oher), get Sintim in round two. He's a real 3-4 OLB and not a 4-3 DE who's forced into a scheme. Go Fili Moala in round 3 and we'll have a good 3-4 DE.

This will leave a hole at either OT or NT. Two of the hardest positions, but we pushed ourselfs into a situation where we can't get enough good starters in one draft and FA is getting somewhat empty on the big name guys.

read some articles on simtim - seems like a nice pick in the 2nd round (I'm for it).

You still think we need raji given the fact we just picked up soi?

lots of people think we will trade down with denver; most teams want to trade down that are in the top 10; be a long shot to trade with denver IMO.

I bet Ted Thompson has certain guys he will take at the 9 spot and I bet jenkins/raji/orakpo/monroe and perhaps smith are all in the bunch and are all possibles at the 9 spot). I'm doubting crabtree will be there but its a possability.

I'd love a trade with Denver, because not only do we get an extra pick, Oher will probably be there too, unless 49ers want another 1st round OT.
