2009 Opponents
W - @Tampa Bay Buccaneers
L - Dallas Cowboys (Gold pkg.)
W - San Francisco 49ers
W - @Detroit Lions (Thanksgiving)
L - Baltimore Ravens
L - @Chicago Bears
L - @Pittsburgh Steelers
W - Seattle Seahawks
W - @Arizona Cardinals
9-7
But I have no confidence in this team at all. I would not be surprised to see them lose to SF and AZ as well and finish 7-9. And don't forget that Detroit as lousy as they are, usually gives GB fits on Thanksgiving day. That too could be a loss.

With how the Cardinals play, I just don't see how they can beat us.

Gee. Another optimist thread. :)

Wins against Tampa and Detroit.
Optimist: wins against two of the following three: Dallas, Chicago, Seattle.

Prediction: between 2-7 and 4-5. (or 6-10 and 8-8 for the season).

:(

Wade, I suggest, if you already haven't. watch the AR video Z put up.

Pay particular attention when he talks about moving foward, focusing on the next game, forgetting about what has happened.

I was there right along with a lot of members of this forum earlier this week calling out the GM and HC and players for the loss LAST SUNDAY.

A person has 2 choices, dwell on what could have been, or look to the future.

The Packers have been beaten by what has turned out to be a very good Bengal team, and The Vikings(twice) who at this point in the season are in the top 5 in the NFL.

All 3 games, The Packers were in it till the end.

Tauscher and Clifton are back, Finley and Nelson are on their way back,Packers have what should be a win this week, a chance to see just where these guys are at.

Then 3 divisional/conference games that will tell the story of this year.

Again a person can either dwell on the past and let it eat at them, or look to the future and hope this team starts playing up to their potential.

I have chosen to look foward, I hope you and others do the same.

Go Pack!!!!!!!!!!!

8-8 miss the playoffs, but anything from 10-6 to 6-10 wouldn't surprise me. Check how soft the NFC East schedules are. There's a good chance 2-3 of them will make the playoffs with Atlanta being the other wild card contender. Dallas has Washington twice and Oakland. Philly has the toughest schedule with only Washington as a gimme left, but they look to be the most well-rounded. The Giants finish with Washington, Carolina, and Minny (who may be resting everyone by week 17). Atlanta plays Washington, Carolina, Tampa twice, and Buffalo. I'm not sure 9-7 would even make the playoffs this year.

I think we could go 7-2 down the stretch if this team plays up to its potential. I don't however think we will. The Packers this year will probably be about 9-7 or so but I hope they can put it together and pull off a 10-6 to 12-4 range.

I'll throw it out here right now, if Packers finish 11-5, they will win the division.

Ummm no. I dont see the Vikings finishing worse than a 12-4 record and i see the pack getting a wild card at best. I don't see the packers better than the eagles, cowboys, or falcons right now.

Here's how I'll generate my prediction. If the Pack can resuscitate the offensive line and show improvement/more comfort in the new defense then we can go 11-5.

W - @Tampa Bay Buccaneers
L - Dallas Cowboys (Gold pkg.)
W - San Francisco 49ers
W - @Detroit Lions (Thanksgiving)
W - Baltimore Ravens
W - @Chicago Bears
L - @Pittsburgh Steelers
W - Seattle Seahawks
W - @Arizona Cardinals

If we get the injury bug or continue to have a sieve of an offensive line or show similarly untimely poor defense like last season's collapse then we're talking into the 8-8 range.

At this point my overall prediction is that we go 6-4 from here on out. Baltimore is the toss up game. Too much hinges on the "what ifs." I do hope we try to establish the run more, but I'm afraid it won't be as effective with Clifton and Tauscher. I know Cliffy isn't a big run blocker these days, whereas Lang has shown some pop in that department. For all Barbre's mistakes in pass defense he just might be better in the run blocking department than Tauscher. I think we'll want the run game to be somewhat effective, seeing as how when it is effective we're playing our best football.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Assuming Mark Tauscher solidifies the right side of our line and Clifton/Lang do a respectable job on the left...

W - @Tampa Bay Buccaneers
W/L - Dallas Cowboys (Gold pkg.)
W - San Francisco 49ers
W - @Detroit Lions (Thanksgiving)
W/L - Baltimore Ravens
L - @Chicago Bears
L - @Pittsburgh Steelers
W - Seattle Seahawks
W - @Arizona Cardinals

I think we definately finish at least 10-6, if EVERYTHING goes right 11-5 but i'm going to stick with 10-6 and a loss to either DAL or BAL, not both.

This is exactly how I've been thinking. We are close to being a great team but stupid mistakes and lack of aggression in the first half of big games are working against us.
