I was glad to see our soft (ish) first half of the season which would give our 3-4 D time to bed in. But the way its going I dont think we'll need a gentle start to make an impact.

The North is vastly improved this year and I'm expecting one of wildcard berths to go to a team in our division.

The only thing that makes me wary is that few of us were predicting a 6-10 season this time last year.

If you look around other boards and comments about videos posted on the net showing the Packers pre-season play and you see that other teams fans are worried. Of course there are also those who say things like "Other teams are only playing vanilla football against the Packers and that's why they look so good." and my personal favorite " The Lions went 4-0 and look how they did." They fail to realize that the Packers are also playing vanilla football and that the Lions didn't totally dominate the first half like the Packers have done thus far.

So as far as I am concerne....Yes, we are that damn good.

I predict 11-5. Injuries to key players could derail us but barring that I see no reason we can't make the playofffs.

6-10 was probably a blessing in disguise. If we would have gone say 10-6 we may still have the same coaches and 4-3 scheme as last season. Looking back I'm glad we lost those close games. It showed we needed to change something. Well we got it and I'm excited.

7-1 is very possible. Even 8-0 is possible IMO.

I have us winning at least 9 games...We can possibly start out 4-0 before our bye week..Actually its a good chance that we do...What alot of people arent realizing (or might not even know) is that the packers have the 3rd easiest schedule this year...With all this talent,we should make the playoffs...If not, then there's some serious issues at hand...This is EXACTLY like the 2007 season (we even had an easy schedule that year) except so far we look twice as good then the 2007 team in preseason...

"bboystyle" wrote:

I think that most people realize this, but you have to take in account that it has the 0-16 Lions in there twice. That sure does bumb your roster down. Although it doesn't hurt us that we're playing the AFC North and the NFC West.

The biggest 'problem' in our schedule is the huge ups and downs. We go from the hapless Lions to the Ravens, from the Rams to the Vikings. Maybe it's a confidence builder, or maybe it'll cause our guys to be over confident and get carried away. You never know. I think we'll do great in the first half of the season, as well. Second half might be quite a bit tougher, but we'll have to defeat those teams anyway, if we want to get anywhere in the play-offs. They'll be a great test.

ya im sure the Lions were saying the same thing last year when they won all 4 preseason games :p

It isn't about the wins. Nobody would be saying anything diffirent if we had ended up losing every game in the end and were 0-3 right now. Weren't all of the division winners in the AFC 3-1 in preseason last year?

I really don't care so much whether a bunch of UDFA and 6th/7th round draft picks could pull out a last minute victory. Who gives a shit if the Lions were 4-0, what does that actually have to do with anything?

In 2007 our starters (specifically the defense) looked really good in the preseason, last year they didn't look to be on the same page all the time and the Defense had no fire. This preseason reminds me more of 2007.

+1 and this man wins the prize. i love all the asstards going "mwah, mwah, Detroit preseason, mwah, mwah." this has nothing to do with our wins but the completely EXCELLENT FORM of our O and D right now. go cry some more tears into your pussy, Dhazer.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Has anyone taken the time to actually look at the wins the Lions had last preseason?

NYG 10 @ DET 13 - OOOOH That was domination! BUT it was the NFL Champs.
DET 27 @ CIN 10 - A Palmer/Chad Johnson/TJ'less Bengals?
CLE 6 @ DET 26 - Nice win, being the 3rd game of the preseason.
DET 14 @ BUF 6 - Another squeaker...

Us this year?
CLE 0 @ GB 17 - pretty dominating game
BUF 21 @ GB 31 - two score win over a team most feel is on the upswing (minus Owens in this game)
GB 44 @ ARI 37 - squeaker against the defending (minus two of top 3 WR) champs

Looking at the stats, the Lions didn't really dominate anyone like the Packers have consistently with each game, thus far.

I expect us to lose against the Titans.

Yes and I believe if we were 10-6 last year we would probably not have gotten BJ Raji......We would probably be stuck with Aaron Maybin or someone of that nature.

I'm really glad to have BJ 🙂 (No pun intended)

I'm relatively new so I'll have a go:

1 Sep 13 CHI @ GB - W
2 Sep 20 CIN @ GB - W
3 Sep 27 GB @ STL - W
4 Oct 05 GB @ MIN - L
5 Bye
6 Oct 18 DET @ GB - W
7 Oct 25 GB @ CLE - W
8 Nov 01 MIN @ GB - W
9 Nov 08 GB @ TB - W
10 Nov 15 DAL @ GB - L
11 Nov 22 SF @ GB - W
12 Nov 26 GB @ DET - W
13 Dec 07 BAL @ GB - L
14 Dec 13 GB @ CHI - L
15 Dec 20 GB @ PIT - L
16 Dec 27 SEA @ GB - W
17 Jan 03 GB @ ARI - L

In short: I'm predicting 10-6. Re-iterating what I said in the 'is 7-1 too high of a goal' thread, the second half of the schedule is brutal, so the Packers really need to chalk up some wins in the first half - which it looks like, all being well, they will.
