I guess we'll begin in the same way we did last week. With an NFL.com video.

I have my personal opinion - this guy was the hands down best WR BF had to throw to. Not only that, he should have been in the Hall had it not been for that injury. Drives me nuts. He was incredible to see.

The guy had the speed of a WR and the strength of a TE. If you threw the ball in his area, there was little a defender could do. He'd simply take it from you.

I had a Sharpe jersey and at the time, he was my favorite player on the Packers (James Lofton was still playing so he was my fave player of all-time at that point). I remember in Brett's first few years watching every Packers game at the bar and people complaining that Brett looked too much at Sharpe.

Well, duh. If you had Sharpe to throw too, you'd look his way too. Sharpe was simply strongly than the guy defending him and he and Brett had a way of communicating when a play broke down, Sharpe knew what to do, and Brett would know where Sharpe would be.

The thing is, the plays broke down all the time. Drove Coach Holmgren nuts, but more often than not, they worked.

I'll let someone else post stats. Sharpe still is one of my favorite players although my jersey isn't even wearable any more. I'm really bummed about his injury. I guarantee you if he had never been injured, we'd have a lot more than one SB with Favre.

I think he'll have a breakout year in 2009 if Driver and Jennings don't poach too many looks from him.

I met Sterling on three different occasions, twice at Gandrud Chevrolet and once downtown Green Bay in the bars, can't remember the exact bar.

Lets just say this, for as much as Sterling smiled upon the field, he had an equally large ego and attitude off it. But seeing how people flocked around him and bothered him with requests, I could see why.

We should him a Suburban at the dealership.. he closed the deal after hours and at that point he was relaxed and talked a bit more without out as much attitude. I have two of his autographs.. one on a business card someplace in my boxes of grab and one on his 1st season card... that is in a case in the house with the other autographed stuff.

Unreal player and on the field, I loved how the guy was always smiling.. it was infectious on the team

I remember Sterling has a shitty attitude towards the fans but could play the game. He was kind of TO before there was TO. He wanted the ball all the time. But like TO he made plays most of the time.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I recall one play where it was a quick pass to Sharpe, it was whistled dead right away and he threw the ball like he was playing hot potato to Carl Lee of the Vikings. It just looked funny as heck to me lol I think Lee and Sharpe were good friends.

I don't remember what game it was.......but it was snowing, and Sharpe got open and caught the ball. He THOUGHT he crossed into the endzone, but didn't. Someone knocked the ball loose, but Sharpe recovered and took it in for the TD. It was a funny play! I wish i remembered what game it was. Maybe someone on here can find it.

It was in 1992 against the Lions in Milwaukee. I have a video of this that I will post as soon as I get the chance.
