For the second straight year, the Green Bay Packers will open up their season with a prime-time matchup at home against a divisional rival as they take on Chicago, and for the second time in three seasons, will travel to Detroit on Thanksgiving.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Monday at the annual league meetings in Dana Point, Calif., that the Packers will play the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, September 13, 2009, in their season opener. The game will be televised nationally by NBC.

Ah, just saw this on NFL.com aswell.

I don't like the prime-time slot games, as I won't be able to see them, but I guess it's good for the revenue and all.

Although we don't have Thankgiving over here, it's always fun to have a day of football in the middle of the week where the Pack will kick some Lion ass.

I'm glad we get to play in primetime games both the first sunday night and on Thanksgiving.

One thing I'm worried about is they no longer have Wrecks. Wrecks usually gives us two to three freebies a game to work with.

If i still lived in Wisconsin i would be mad at the turkey day game. It interferes with the second opening day of rifle season. I might actually drive over to Detroit for that game if we have the week off at work. I am happy we start our season against a weak offense so we will have a chance to win.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
