I really don't know who i would take, Raji like i said i don't know how sold i am on him. He had another top DT playing right next to him so what happens when he is on his own?

I also don't see Jenkins going that high or Andre Smith after what happened at the combine.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

To me, it's definitely between Orakpo and BJ Raji.

And there was talk of Aaron Maybin falling to the 2nd round because of his very poor combine performance. Wow, what if we could get Raji in the first round and Maybin in the second?

That would be GREAT value!

(Yes, wishful thinking.)

Drafting on need, I would say Raji. Quality, I think Orakpo.

I'd go with Raji. The draft and the NFL both aren't to deep with good NTs and to me, that's what a 3-4 is build on. Take this guy, hope that Harrell will be healthy, rotate Harrell, Jenkins and Jolly at DE and you have quite a solid D-line.

Going on quality mostly, I'd say Orakpo. Like said before, he compares to Ware at this point and that's one hell of a guy to have when you have Kampman on the other side.

It won't do us alot of good though if we don't have a solid NT/D-line and I think we can get a decent guy in the 2nd round at OLB, while we can't upgrade our D-Line alot later on. Kampman doesn't need a beast on the other side if he's as good of a fit at OLB as they point him out to be.

It is going to be a VERY tough decision for Ted Thompson to make between Raji and Orakpo (I hope those are the two he has it narrowed down to.)

In a way, I hope that Orakpo gets selected before the Packers draft, and then we get Raji. Then we can't get mad that we didn't select Orakpo later on when he's the defensive player of the year.

when you know he will be. plus i also think that he will be a great great great NFL player. look at his combine. 4.7 40. 31 reps of 225 one of the highest of the linebackers, top performers is verticle, long jump also. great pass rusher. wait now i sound like mayock when i say take him he and demarcus ware are one of the same. perfect fit for our system. if he is still available take him. but which team will he is almost a sure 3-4 who else is 3-4 in front of the packers? browns i think are the only ones

they have needs at that position because migginist is gone and who else will play there. there has been talk of them releasing or trading shaun rodgers. i hope that happens so we can still have orakpo and not be angry cus we didn't take raji when he performs well. and the point was made earlier. can he play that well without the DT next to him of the BC d-line? guess we will wait and see.

It's going to be tough to see both Cleveland and Cincinnati passing on Orakpo. Both need a pass rush.

I agree, I think he will be off the board at 5, making my previous post pointless.

Anyway, I still don't get why we always take Jenkins when Orakpo isn't on the board, I thought his stock had dropped, yet, even on Kirwan's new mock draft, we're still taking Malcolm while Raji goes to Denver at 12.

Well these are mocks - I'm still 'worried that well draft raji and hell end up like tony madnrich or harrell and be busts (just prejudice against big fat guys as our 1st round picks).

Jenkins seems like a steal at #9 if we can get him.
Some good guys in the 2nd and 3rd round ... johnson tyson brace

The theory in taking Jenkins goes like this.

Move Nick Collins to SS where he played his rookie season at and starting Jenkins at FS which is where he probably fits best in the NFL because of his speed.

Another theory is moving Charles Woodson to SS and starting Jenkins at CB with Al Harris.

I'm not to thrilled on either idea and the national media has picked up on it because it's Green Bay and they really don't pay much attention to GB outside of checking with their sources.

1. You're taking a Pro Bowl FS and moving him to SS. That's a change.

2. You're taking the best cover guy arguably in the league and moving him to SS. That makes little sense.

Personally I think solidifying the secondary is meaningless if GB keeps the same front seven they had a year ago.

dfosterf (4h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (4h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (4h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (4h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (4h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (4h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (4h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (4h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (5h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (5h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
