Why is it every year at this time a story comes out on every other player being of "interest" to the Cowboys?

First of all I have not heard where this guy has been in any trouble so that should cancel him out right there. Jones being so tender hearted and wanting to give all these players that have gotten in trouble a second chance and all.

He's the only owner I know that uses police reports to find players.

I have a couple of friends from college who are Cowboys fans and they said the Cowboys are looking at Ray Lewis too. This is just by ear though, I have nothing in writing.

How many guys can this team pick up one year?

I would really like getting him... I have been a big fan of taking a DE/OLB hybrid in round one like Orakpo but if we got Igor I wouldnt mind take Raji if he was still there and then taking a hybrid in the second.

Let the Cowboys get him because they'll overpay for him. He'd be a great fit for the Packers, but if GB is overpaying they should do so for Julius Peppers or Terrell Suggs or Jordan Gross.

Dallas has been hit hard by the recession this offseason. They can't find anyone to give them cash for naming rights on thier money-pit new stadium, so cashflow is an issue, believe it or not. I just heard last night that they may not have a "splash" FA signing this time around.

Yeah, it's been reported in Adam Schefter's blogs too. I would hate for it to happen, and I think Ray Lewis is stupid if he doesn't take the contract offer from Ravens (which will be huge), and tarnish his legacy as a raven till the end.
