Considering Jolly was actually drafted, I'd actually lean towards giving him a lower tender--because if we lose him, we'd still get something in return.

I mean with his impending legal issues, there's a small chance he might not even play anyway.

I love Jolly though... especially when he bats down passes at the line of scrimmage, something he does pretty darn often.

If another team signed a player the lowest tender than the Packers would get the pick that the player was drafted at....

so if the lowest tender was put on Jolly and someone else signed him the Packers could get that teams' 6th round pick because Jolly was drafted in the 6th.

Jolly is worth more than a 6th, IMO.

We need to keep Jolly considering Cole and Montgomery will in all likelyhood be released.

For some reason my gut tells me that we would be looking for a 3-4 DE in free agency since there appears to be a limited number of guys who could play in that position in the draft.

I could say Peira Jerry, Everette Pedescleaux, Jarron Gilbert, Fili Moala and Evander Hood as far as i can think of that we could consider in the draft. However we may not be able to get hold of one cos they are in high demand.

However in free agency there are a number of guys who we could target. Kedric Golston, Gabe Watson, Jovan Haye, Chris Canty, Igor Olshansky.

By getting a DE in free agency, we could focus on getting an 3-4 OLB in the draft since that group is quite deep. E. Brown, Orakpo, English, Maybin, Cushing, Ayers, Barwin, C.Brown, Sintim to name but a few.
