Turns out, Jennifer Hudson lip-synched the national anthem before Sunday night's Super Bowl.

The reason?

"This was such an important performance, because it's the first time everyone has seen Jennifer," the show's producer, Ricky Minor, said of Hudson, who marked her first public performance on Sunday since her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were fatally shot in October. "But she's in such a great place, with such great spirits, and time can heal her wounds. She's on fire right now and totally grounded."

I have no challenge with her lip synching on Game Day.

I Finger Synch most of my Game Day Posts here after my fifth C.C. and Coke.

Why risk screwing up.

LOL!
But to be fair, Milli Vanilli didn't even sing the songs in the first place. They were just "used" cause they were "pretty". Not ONE of their songs was actually sung by them.

I don't know. it seems to cheapen the experience in my opinion. part of the allure of live music, for me, is the human factor. it's different than studio, and we don't expect it to sound like studio. a little sloppiness reminds me that these demi-gods of commercialism are humans too.

Naw dude. The Anthem didn't skip like Milli Vanilli did. That's botching it up.

Kinda like Ashlei Simpson on SNL. If you guys don't remember this.. About 6 months after she told a magazine 'I'll never lip-sync, it's classless' (I'm paraphrasing) she was the singing guest on SNL. And she lip-synced that night. In fact, come her second song performance, the person that started the track, played the SAME SONG she performed in the first performance. Once they realized it, she started jumping around on stage like an epileptic monkey. It was greatly embarassing.. Even for me! LOL

I actually like lip synched performances, unless it's overtly obvious that they're not singing right. I want to be entertained with musical perfection, and I like hearing songs sung 'perfectly'. That's probably why I don't like concerts. I'm probably in the minority though!

Ok, maybe it didn't totally go that way, but still, it's pretty funny.

I don't have that much problems with the lip-syncing. I just don't like it when people lie about it like Simpson did. Makes you come off like a horrible hypocrite.
