Dude Shaun Hill sucks. I get to watch every 49er game on tv, because I live in there coverage area. Hill has no arm strength and his accuracy is bad. And he does not move well, but once he gets started he can run a little though.

Anyway this is San Francisco there are a lot of PETA people. You would hear a huge uproar of disapproval if Vick was signed.

2 things:

1) I disagree on your assessment of Hill. I think for a starting QB, he is quite average, which is better than around 15 NFL teams can say. Put Hill on the Vikings and I'd be worried.

2) Agreed on your 2nd point. PETA is very powerful out here. You'd see protests at every game, and those protests wouldn't be very pretty. A lot of celebrities would throw some serious money into it too.

Knowing PETA first hand, the disruptions would be large enough to cause monetary damage to the Niners.

Now, if the Niners moved over the Bay to Oakland (with the Raiders moving back to LA), then I could see them picking up Vick. PETA's scared of Oakland.

So Cheesey - you'll love this. Here in San Francisco, I listen to one of 3 radio stations. In the morning, it's usually Live 105. Anyways, someone on the radio offended PETA (which you know how easy it is to do). Long story, I won't get into it. So PETA members were calling and saying how smart chickens are, and how they can remember those evil farmers picking them up and throwing them in cages and how traumatizing it is. So a farmer lady called up and said that from her experience, chickens have the memories of a goldfish. So the PETA lady replied that chickens are "smarter than most small children." Not joking. Those were her EXACT words.

Maybe it's not totally in line with the 49ers being interested in him, but Vick will apparently be released this morning.

Falcons set to release Vick

Posted: June 12th, 2009 | Steve Wyche | Tags: Atlanta Falcons, Michael Vick

The Atlanta Falcons will release suspended quarterback Michael Vick this morning, according to a team source. Atlanta has tried to trade Vicks rights but has had no takers. Vick is finishing the final five weeks of his 23-month federal sentence on dog-fighting charges under home confinement.

Vick was the first overall pick of the Falcons in 2001 and went to three Pro Bowls before he was imprisoned on dog-fighting charges in 2007.

Well have more on the story later this morning.

PETA animal shelters have the highest kill rate (97%) of any humane society in this country. PETA also runs ads advocating for the euthanization of animals that aren't purebred.

Fuck PETA.

beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
