Yeah key words there are "down the road"....I want to make it to the superbowl this coming year, I don't want to have to wait until down the road. I think with the 9 spot we could get an immediate impact player. Hopefully a very successful tweener.

Reaching for a need usually doesn't end up being successful. If the top group of LTs is gone and Orakpo isn't there, then Jenkins becomes the best player on the board. He may not contribute from day one, but he'd be the most likely to become a Pro Bowl caliber player, and that's what you should try to acquire with a top 10 pick.

I would not understand us going after Jenkins. I'm expecting Maybin or Orakpo.

Jenkins could be the pick because Harris and Woodson are getting older, and the team could use a corner to fill their shoes when they retire. It might not be a sexy pick now, but down the road we could be better off for it.

With that said, I'd rather see a left tackle taken at 9.

Tramon Williams is more than adequate to fill in for Harris, and I think we will trade Harris this season because Tramon is ready. Lee and Blackmon should also improve on their seasons. Blackmon had some problems in coverage but I believe he has the athletic ability to improve.

Maybin is a DE, and so is Orakpo. Whomever performs better in the combine and whomever is left in the draft is who the Packers should go for.

I know what position Maybin plays. I was simply commenting on how small he is. I wouldn't touch him at 9 because he'll probably get manhandled by NFL OTs. Orakpo and Brown are the tweeners worth taking that high IMO. If neither is there, trade down or take the best player at another position.
