If the game went pay-per-view, that would mean we could only watch it on the feed if Zero bought the game.

Packers winning the Superbowl next year would bring in extra $cash$. Other than that, if this salary cap thang ain't figured out in the next 2 or 3 years, welcome back to the 70's and 80's. Besides, who couldn't like a guy like Lynn Dickey?

I do not think the league will go uncapped. I think each side realizes that over all the cap and FA has pushed the league way ahead of where it would have been otherwise.

Going with out a cap, may help knock some of the salaries back down as long as certain owners don't become boneheads and just start throwing ungodly amounts of cash around.

Unless the economy keeps tanking for a long period, I am not worried about the Packers. They have been profitable enough to be able to pay pretty good salaries, as long as things don't get stupid like baseball.

Zeros feed is safe because they cannot offer a pay per view after all Direct tv has the other rights to the games that way thus the very expensive bs they call the Sunday Ticket. For the money they charge they should keep replaying the games all week long not just the time it is on.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Want a way to increase revenue, simple win.

If the Packers made another run in the playoffs the revenue stream is vastly increased in sales of Packer gear.. remember the waiting list for those Packer stocking caps that were the rave.

Just Win Baby.. Just Win.

However, NFL Rules would not allow it in a game. Have to have the number on the front, and they would have to wear the jersey in a game to really sell it world wide and outside of the Pro Shop.

That's something aswell, maybe try to spread the game some more and especially make merchandise easier to get for people that don't live in America.

That goes for the entire league, if the game was marketed better over here, they could add tons of revenue. And if you could buy jerseys etc. in Europe with something else than a CC and not having $100,- delivery costs, I see their sales going up big time.

Just like this guy said ... win some games come to europe and play at wimbeldon for one game and sell packers gear here ...

F#$% if I see another yankees hat, shirt, jacket I'm going to barff - I live in london and thats all people wear here. Not sure if the yankees have some special deal going on here but its Rediculous with a capital R.

Everyone is wearing yankees stuff in london and heck most dont even know its a baseball team they are wearing. (I think they just like the NY thing)

Heck they tried to bring soccer over to the states with backham (whatever his name is) get some good football here to england or at least our gear.

And get some bleeding pubs to put the games on more lol - theres only 1 in london thats supposed to have em on but if a soccer game is more important that means no game.

ok rant over ...

I think the franchise has done themselves plenty of favors with the Lambeau remodel and what not. This current team is going to be able to do much better in a capless NFL (lets hope they can get a new CB agreement in place by March '10 so this doesn't become a reality) than the old Packer franchise from the 70's and 80's.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
