If the Packers can improve on offense and make a few moves in the offseason to enhance their defense, theyll be right back in the race.

The Packers do not really need to improve on offense. The Packers' offensive output was equal to or better than that of most of the teams who made the playoffs.
Of 12 playoff teams, only the Chargers, Giants, and Cardinals (3 teams) scored more points (incidentally, the Giants and Cardinals tied for the same number of points); only the Cardinals, Falcons and Giants (3 teams) amassed more yards per game; only the Colts (1 team) converted more 3rd downs; only the Chargers and Colts (2 teams) had a higher 3rd-down conversion ratio; only the Steelers, Giants, and Ravens (3 teams) had higher time of possession; only the Panthers, Dolphins, Giants and Colts (4 teams) lost fewer fumbles; and only the Giants, Colts, Ravens and Dolphins (4 teams) had a better turnover ratio.
The Packers were better than 67% of playoff teams in almost every offensive statistical category.
Where the Packers were dreadful was in offensive penalties (2nd in the league only to the Cowboys) and in 4th-down conversion ratio (23rd in league).
So statistically, the Packers were solidly a playoff-caliber team. The vast majority of improvement needs to happen on the defensive side of the ball and on special teams.
