" Every town in America has an Applebee's restaurant. In Green Bay, Applebee's was about as fancy as you got. When my wife, Sarah, and I would get a baby sitter, a nice date night was Applebee's. In Minnesota, I'm sure there will be plenty of options before Applebee's comes into the rotation."

-Ryan Longwell

This was what Longwell told the MN Media in one of his first interviews with MN Media after he signed wih Vikings.

It was a stupid comment!!!
For some reason, Ryan was trying to "slam" Green Bay and make points with MN people through the MN sports media with the Applebee's comment

Ryan Longwell was in Green Bay from 1997-2006- (decade) And the fanicest place, he could come up with, to take his wife -- was Applebee's- I wonder, if with all his money he made kicking for the Packers-, could he be cheap. Lol's

Maybe Ryan should have looked thru the Green Bay yellow pages in the phone book under Restaurants, or asked any employee at 1265 Lombardi Av. Or spoke to one of his neighbors, when he lived here in Green Bay. And asked for his neighbor's choice of fancy places to eat at - here in Green Bay.

Or ask me--I have eaten in just about every Restaurant, Supper Club or Sports Bar and Grill in
Green Bay from 1954 -2008. Ryan--Applebee's-- You got to be kidding!!!!

Good "ole" PWT36--Green Bay born ,Green Bay raised- And expert on all things ("in my mind ") concerning - Green Bay,The Green Bay Packers and also Green Bay Eating places___ "Truly a man for all seasons" Lol's

At least he peed in a urinal. What was funny was how everyone got on the poor guy's case about sharing this story where he took a wiz next to Bubba.

We had some fun with Longwell's Applebee's story too. But I will say that Minneapolis is the only place where I've been to an Indian restaurant, Taste of India, and it's very good. I wonder if there is an Indian restaurant in Green Bay.

This would be a big deal to me because I've never seen / met anyone famous. Did you talk to him?

Greg was wearing some large hat that covered his ears and he had his head downward and was moving swiftly so it was obvious he didn't wanna talk.

I bet he DID want to talk. If he really was moving "swiftly", you would have only seen a blur!

I met Larry McCarren in the rest room at Lambeau Field. (For those that don't know, he played for the Packers, and is now doing radio with Wayne Larivee for Packer games)
He was really nice..........I waited for him to wash his hands before i shook hands with him! LOL!

I have met many Packer players over the years, Ray Nitschke, Bart Starr, Fuzzy Thurston, Jerry Kramer, Lynn Dickey, James Lofton, Brett Favre, Greg Jennings, and about 90 or so more.
Most of them are nice guys, and only a few acted like they were too good for us.

I met Jennings at a signing about a year ago, and he was really nice. He took the time to chat, shake hands, and was just all around nice. I hope he stays that way.

Awesome.

If I'll ever get to GB while Jennings still plays there, I'll sleep in front of the store waiting for him.

That's awesome! I'd love to see Jennings other than behind my TV screen.

I met Bart Starr and Gale Sayers during week 2 of the '04 season a few years back when we lost to the Bears. They unvieled a statue of Bart Starr and I was able to shake his hand and get two autographs on two packer hats, he was a nice guy, actually started conversation with me cause I was too star struck. Defintely a moment I will never forget, at the game during pregame warmups, I yelled out to Al Harris and he snapped his fingers and pointed at me with a wink. Best Weekend Ever!

I was getting my season tickets at Raiders headquarters when they were in L.A.

Howie Long walked out into the parking lot and I asked him for an autograph.

He loooked at me then said "Fuck You" and kept on walking.

He must have had a bad day.

That was the coolest "Fuck You" I ever got.
