Im betting the over.

The interest in this thread is underwhelming. I think most must think this game is a cakewalk.

I hope the Packers do not. With the ass kicking we got last week, nothing is a sure thing.

Go Packers!!!!

The over/under is at 48.5 and Packers favored by 3 points. So, they saying Packers 27, Rams 24?

LaFleur hasn't lost to McVay yet. Sunday is probably the day. If Romeo Doubs doesn't play, we are hosed.

I expect a whole lot of running and more emphasis on tight end play.

Even though the top to receivers are out (I think) with all day to throw against our poor underneath coverage, we could be the recipients of lots of dinks and dumps, i.e. long drives which wears our defense down.

An excellent call, IMO

As far as this thread goes, I was in a wait and see approach with regards to our injuries. Jaire and Valentine are back this week but Cooper seems to be dealing with the same hip injury that bothered him in camp with Kyren Williams on deck. Who knows, maybe the Rams unleash Blake Corum this week.

I expected a lot from the Packers this season. So far, I haven't seen a whole lot to get excited about. Love, with the injury, doesn't (so far) look as good as he did towards the end of last season. I still thought they should have started our backup QB last game.
I do think the Packers can win this weekend. But it wouldn't surprise me if they lost.
Our defense has looked too much like our previous defenses.

One Last Look: QB Matthew Stafford putting his numbers vs. Packers out of reach
Plus some streaks heading into Sunday vs. Rams
Oct 05, 2024 at 08:30 AM

GREEN BAY – Just last week, quarterback Matthew Stafford moved into the top 10 on the NFL's all-time list for passing yards with 57,025, and the only active QB with more is the Packers' former four-time MVP, Aaron Rodgers (59,904).

So on Sunday in Los Angeles as Stafford makes his 22nd career start against Green Bay, the most of any active opposing QB, it's a good time to review the marks he's posted in that time – records for Green Bay opponents he's putting out of reach for a long, long time.

During his career with the Lions and now Rams, Stafford has thrown 40 TD passes against Green Bay and is just 24 passing yards from 6,000. Those numbers far outpace anyone else.

Johnny Unitas threw 34 TD passes against the Packers (in 23 starts), and Fran Tarkenton had 33 (in 28). The only active QB in the top five is Kirk Cousins with 23 TD passes, in 11 games, and the only other active QB with even a dozen TD passes against the Packers is Jared Goff. So Stafford's total there is plenty safe.

Assuming he gets those 24 passing yards to reach 6,000 against the Packers, that's not likely to be touched anytime soon either. No one else ever hit 5,000 (Tarkenton had 4,978) and the only active QB over 3,000 is Cousins (3,010).

This is Stafford's fourth season with the Rams, but it's just his second start for LA against Green Bay because he was injured for both the 2022 and '23 matchups.

In this one, he'll be without his top two receivers in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, but the Packers are taking nothing for granted with Stafford under center.

"They still got the guy delivering the football that's one of the best in the business," Head Coach Matt LaFleur said. "He can make any throw. He's tougher than crap. He can stand in there, he can take a beating. We have to make sure we get after him as best we can."

Back when Stafford made his first start against Green Bay, as a rookie on Nov. 26, 2009, at Lambeau Field, Packers QB Jordan Love had just turned 11 years old.

Love couldn't remember the first time he watched Stafford play on TV, but there's always been a level of admiration for the nuances of QB play in his game. Love got to meet Stafford this past offseason and enjoyed chatting ball.

"Talk about a guy that can do a lot of things with eye manipulation, no-look passes, put the ball on the money," Love said. "Definitely got a lot of respect for him."

hopefully, we can mix in some new things to give him looks he has not seen from us before.
Go Packers!!!!

Martha Careful (25m) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (32m) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (56m) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (11h) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
Zero2Cool (20h) : There is a rule that if your name starts with 'b' you lose 15 points. Hey, I don't make the rules, I just enforce them!
wpr (21h) : and then there is Beast. Running away with it all.
beast (20-Dec) : As of tonight, 3 way tie for 2nd in Pick'em, that battle is interesting!
beast (20-Dec) : Lions vs Vikings could be the main last game as it could determine division winners or #1 vs #2 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Apparently, the editing is what pieces comments together. That Ted thing ... fake news.
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : LaFleur "opportunity that Ted Thompson thought was too good to pass up"
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Jordan Love pick was Ted Thompson's idea.
Mucky Tundra (19-Dec) : Kyle Shanahan on signing De'Vondre Campbell as a FA last offseason: “We obviously made a mistake.”
packerfanoutwest (19-Dec) : Alexander’s last season with GB
Martha Careful (18-Dec) : if I were a professional athlete, I would probably look to see who the agent is for Kirk Cousins and then use him
beast (18-Dec) : $100 million fully guaranteed Kirk Cousins gets benched for rookie
Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : a lower case b
Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : The real lie is how beast capitalized his name in his message while it's normally spelled with
packerfanoutwest (18-Dec) : haha that's a lie
beast (17-Dec) : Despite what lies other might tell, Beast didn't hate the Winter Warnings, it felt refreshing to Beast for some reason.
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : whiteout uniforms in general are pretty lame and weak. NFL greed at it's worst
Martha Careful (17-Dec) : The Viking uniforms, the whiteout uniforms specifically absolutely suck
beast (17-Dec) : Thanks Zero2Cool, looks a lot better now
beast (17-Dec) : Seems like someone has a crush on me, can't stop talking about me
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : Should be gooder now. The forum default theme went to goofy land.
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : What the hell
packerfanoutwest (17-Dec) : yeah beast hates the Winter Warning Unies
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Okay I'm glad to know it's not just something happening to me lol
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Zero, did you copy the Packers uniforms from last night and white out the board?
beast (16-Dec) : Oh crap, is the board going to the Winter Warning Uniforms too?!? It's all white on white right now!
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : WR Odell Beckham Jr is officially a free agent after clearing waivers.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : Packers are 6th in sacks.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : RB David Montgomery will undergo season-ending knee surgery.
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Dan Campbell on onside kick with 12 minutes left: In hindsight, wish I didn’t do that
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : They have that whole 12th man thing so ...
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : Of the times we've played there, I just can't recall hearing our fans.
wpr (16-Dec) : Well done jdlax. Well done.
wpr (16-Dec) : I think more likely to be Pack fans that live in the area.
wpr (16-Dec) : Pack fans represent. I pointed it out early in the game to my wife. Announcers said Packers travel well.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : That was crazy to hear go pack go in Seattle of all plays. That 12 man thing an all
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : jdlax, good man!
jdlax (16-Dec) : Mucky, there were too many of us there to credit any single one but for sure i was 60% responsible.
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : jdlax, I assume you were among the Packer fans that got the "Go Pack Go!" chant going in the first quarter. Very appreciated!
jdlax (16-Dec) : We are doing the thing out west my friends
beast (16-Dec) : Damn, should have picked the Buccaneers over Chargers
beast (15-Dec) : Note: DuBose was just going all out for questionable location ball, probably never saw the defender. Bad idea to throw it there.
beast (15-Dec) : Yeah, DuBose head went down and he nailed the defender with the top of his helmet, full head, neck, spine potential injury there
