Green Bay is looking at the running back market going into Week 5.

Many were expecting a kicker change in Green Bay on Monday after the Packers ’ Brayden Narveson missed two short field goals in the team’s two-point loss to the Minnesota Vikings . That, apparently isn’t happening.

Not only did head coach Matt LaFleur stand up for his kicker after the game in his press conference, but he did the same in his presser on Monday after reviewing the team’s film. According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Packers did work out players today, but it was two running backs, not a kicker .

Green Bay brought in Deon Jackson and Zonovan Knight, who both have experience elsewhere in the NFL.

Bold prediction: Deon Jackson takes Jordan Wilkins’s spot. He’s 5’11” and 218 lbs (30.4 BMI), ran a 4.47(90%ile speed score), and scored a RAS of 8.9. Jackson’s $45k signing bonus was also reportedly the largest of any UDFA. Why would the $$-conscious Colts pay so much for a RB? https://t.co/YZN2KvN3ik  pic.twitter.com/oUGubUy4Vl

Jackson is former undrafted player from the 2021 class who has had stints with the Indianapolis Colts , Cleveland Browns , New York Giants  and most recently the New York Jets . He’s relatively experienced for a street free agent, as he’s recorded 95 carries and 35 receptions (on just 40 targets) in his NFL career. In total, he’s played 318 offensive snaps with three teams, mostly coming with the Colts, and 238 special teams snaps.

Zonovan Knight is a RB prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 5.85 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 679 out of 1632 RB from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/NYT6djFBKP  #RAS  https://t.co/Cu9LoyM8Zz  pic.twitter.com/EFafPxQB9A

Knight, nicknamed “Bam,” was undrafted in the 2022 class and was signed as a free agent by the Jets. After a year there, he was waived during the 2023 cutdowns and landed on the Detroit Lions ’ practice squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster. After a month, Knight’s second season in the NFL ended with him going on the injured reserve. He was waived by the Lions back at cutdowns in August. Knight has posted 88 NFL regular season carries, with 85 coming in 2022 with the Jets, and 14 receptions.

The Packers don’t appear to have a great need at running back right now, so it’s interesting that the team brought in two players at that position. Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson are holding down roster spots on the 53-man roster and rookie third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd is designated to return from the injured reserve. Chris Brooks, who was promoted off of the practice squad in Week 3 after signing with the team in Week 1, is also on the active roster.

Green Bay also keeps Ellis Merriweather, who was elevated for gameday in Week 1 versus the Philadelphia Eagles , on their practice squad. If the Packers do sign one of Jackson or Knight, it almost certainly means that one of Brooks or Merriweather will be let go, or that the team suffered an injury at the running back position that has not been previously reported.

I am...puzzled that they did not bring in some bodies to try out at K.

They probably already got a list of Kickers from previous tryouts and game film. Kicker is one position that's quite easy to just plug and play.

Zero2Cool (9h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (9h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (11h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (12h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (13h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you
wpr (13h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (13h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (13h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (13h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (14h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (14h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (14h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (14h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (15h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
