He indeed says he is interested in coaching somewhere. 8 minutes and 17 seconds into the clip. "Are you interested in coaching, whether it was in college or in the NFL?":

Yes. I thought about it for years, and I decided I didn't have the makeup for it, because of family issues, and putting in the hours. I didn't want to do it. But now, I'm more flexible to do a lot of these things."

Heard he is very bright but very strict and military-ish in his approach.. very organized... Rex Ryan might be on his way out and Fangio might step into the role.. but worth a call maybe?

http://preview.baltimoreravens.com/People/Coaches/Vic_Fangio.aspx

OVERVIEW: Named special assistant to the head coach/defense in '07...Signed on with the Ravens as a team consultant in '06...Fangio broke down tape, scouted plays, players and team tendencies for the offense and defense...Was defensive coordinator for 3 NFL teams the Texans, Colts and the Panthers...Fangio coached defensive units that led the league or were in the top 3 in points allowed, 3rd-down defense, 1st downs allowed, sacks, run defense, opponents QB rating and defensive TDs...His defenses ranked in the top 7 in the takeaway category 3 times (1995-96, 1998)...First NFL coaching position was with the Saints as OLB coach under head coach Jim Mora Sr....Launched pro coaching career with the USFL's Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars in 1984...Stars won 2 titles.

Does he have any kind of relationship with McCarthy?
I'm thinking that might be a key factor as it is with most coaching prospects in the NFL.

In looking through his bio... I believe that to be a negative.

I like the name, much more agressive than Sandman or Moss.

How about another name: Dom Capers?

Coaches DBs in New England, but is supposed to be a defensive genius. Very experienced; I'm a bit surprised no one has even brought up his name again as a possibility.

That is a possibility... the world didn't end because Gregg Williams decided the Packers weren't the right fit for him.. screw him.. there are other names out there that can bring the Packers D back to life.

Definitely.

Although I must admit, if I were MM I'd be a little pissed that Williams would turn the job down to go to a team that seems to have lesser Defensive talent than our team.

Perhaps the players will use this as a bit of a motivational tool? Or MM can use it as a motivation tool, trying to show Greg Williams that this was the team that had the most on D, and show Williams what a mistake he made...
