It is being reported that Boston College athletic director Gene DeFilippo, has informed head coach Jeff Jagodzinski he will be fired if he interviews for the New York Jets head coahing position.

Its about time a college AD puts his foot down. Time and time again, college AD's allow coaches to leave in the middle of their contract.

Also, when a coach gets busted for recruiting violations, the fans get screwed, the players get screwed, and the coach gets $10 million to go somewhere else.

College coaches are catered to way too much, and I'm glad to see that there is finally a college AD that as a pair.

yeah he's a genius as long as the rest of the colleges follow suit - otherwise, BC will be hard-pressed to find a replacement, imho.

I agree. Who wants to earn a paltry $2 million a year in this great economy. :thumbright:

I'm desperate for some change to the o-line coaching, and Jags would be my first, second, and third choice to be the new coach.

Maybe. There are only so many of those jobs available though. My point; AD's hold all the leverage, and its nice to see that they are starting to use it.

When a coach gets fired, ten times out of ten they get a huge payoff. However, when a coach leaves for another job, 9 times out of ten he does so with no consequences. Thats not right.
