I guess this one should be titled the morning after after, huh? Oops. 😳
AccuracyI've been reading a lot of victory laps about Jordan Love and how he's the guy. He's proven it. And what not and I just cannot believe that yet. Through three games his accuracy is still something that concerns me. He's in his fourth season and I would expect his accuracy to be better than it is.
This is comparing him to other QB's I've seen throughout this season where they are hitting guys in stride all of the time. Then again, maybe this offense doesn't scheme WR's to be catching the ball in stride?
I'm not talking his completion percentage because he's had some wicked bad drops and also the defense made numerous really good pass breakups. There's just something that feels off with his ball location.
OffenseThe Packers best offensive play has been getting defensive pass interference calls.
Running GameI think the offense with Patrick Taylor looked more like the offense does with Aaron Jones. It felt like there was a little bit of that spark. When we have AJ Dillon in there, I think it looks slumpy bumpy. I think this is because Taylor and Jones have similar quickness to holes where as Dillon takes longer to get up to speed.
Nixon!Keisean Nixon. I really like him as a player. I just do not agree with him jumping up to catch a ball at the back of the end zone and taking it out. Ever since he did that, I've been grimacing when I see the ball kicked deep. I think if he can move forward into his catch, then by all means, rip it!! But if you have to jump or move any direction that isn't forward when catching a kick off deep into the end zone, well, you're reducing your likelihood of a good return and squandering field position. And this Packers offense needs every yard given to it.
DefenseI've been pretty content with the defense so far. I think they might want to keep Rashan Gary on a pitch count throughout the season. Those few snaps per drive that he gets out there. It's like unleashing a wild animal and he has seemingly been unstoppable.
Considering they were with out a few CB's, I thought they did OK vs Chris Olave and Mike Thomas.
PenaltiesThese penalties are going to cost us a win or two at some point. The team is young. Yes. But we cannot have the same guys committing the same mistakes week in week out. It needs to improve.
All in all this was a super frustrating game and also exciting game to watch.
