https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2023/09/03/colorados-travis-hunter-names-choice-for-future-nfl-team

CB/WR Travis Hunter currently playing for Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes, in his first game of the season had 11 Catches, 119 Yards, 1 INT, 3 Tackles and played over 110 snaps combined
110 snaps combined.

Doing an internet interview, was asked about NFL teams, and said his favorite team is the 49ers, but he doesn't nessarily want to play there (he doesn't say why, but the usual answer is California taxes), he also says he'd like to stay in Colorado (doesn't say why, but it's a great PR move, and maybe saying he didn't want to play for 49ers was also a PR move to his current playing location).

But then he brings up, everyone is telling him, that he's going to Green Bay. He doesn't know why. It's cold in Green Bay. He doesn't mind the cold, but why I gotta go to Green Bay? Lol

I just found it entertaining, also would be interesting why everyone is saying Green Bay. My guess is that it's simply teasing him. But Packers did really like Kenny Clark's high snap count. And I'm mainly pointing him out as he played both ways, you don't see much of that anymore.

If those around him know he doesn't like the cold. I would say he's gonna go to Green Bay just to razz him a bit. Mock Drafts and projections are difficult as heck when we know the draft order and after seeing the last season of the college players. So, to project his landing spot what 8 months before the draft? That seems like folks just yanking his chain on the "coldest" NFL city to mess with him.

It'd be like people telling me I'm gonna be drafted by the Cowboys knowing full well my ass would hold out. As I type that, I realize how stupid it would be to pass up on a dream to play in the NFL and the $610k annually salary. Fook that, I'll suit up, ball out.

Gotta add to the discussion that "EVERYONE" thinks GB is always in dire need or WR help. I don;t know if this kid is a first round projection or not but "EVERYONE" loves to say GB is going to take a WR in the first round when they never do.

As far as being a two way player, good for him. That may work at CU but it isn't going to be a thing in the NFL.

I do get a good laugh when these "experts" say this is the year the Packers take a WR in round one. And they say how they "need" to. And when you point out most of the best WR's in the game were 2nd round or later, they pretend that wasn't stated. When you point out Packers WR's over the years that were studs were Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Davante Adams, etc and they were selected in 2nd round. They again pretend you said nothing.

The Packers under Thompson and Gute, they have a general pattern, in that first round is best defensive player (with QB and OT being the exception), and second pick is one of the most needed position when looking at contracts for the following off-season.

Such as selecting RB Dillon, when Jones and Williams were in contact years and therefore not signed after the following off-season.

More specifically, under Gute the rules have seemingly been

Round 1: Defensive player (QB is an exception, still unsure if OT is as well, and Gute has supposedly targeted some WRs but it just didn't work out).

Round 2 & 3: Offensive players.
Round 4: Often used to trade up, but otherwise often like round 2.

Also
Round 1: Value position: QB, OT, CB and Edge Rushers have long been considered the most valuable positions, Safety and TE have usually come after that. Gute's only picks that don't fit this are ILB Walker (whom covers like a Safety and is their dime LB) and DT Wyatt (pass rusher specialist, sorta like an Edge on the inside).

Round 2: Offensive beef or star receiving target. Only CB Jackson in Gute's first year doesn't fit this

Round 3: Tweener Bust Central:
2018: ILB/S Burks
2019: WR/TE Sternberger
2020: FB/TE Deguara
2021: WR/RB Rodgers
2022: OT/OG Rhyan
2023: ... well, not a tweener, so hopefully breaks the mold, but currently struggling a bit, but only a rookie TE Kraft.

Round 4: Like Round 2 but with a lot less success. WR or beef, most likely offensive beef but in 2023 it was DE Wooden.

Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
