You can certainly try... but I think they'll say hell no. Unless they're tanking on purpose like the Bears did last year.
Isaiah Simmons was seemingly a man without a true position, built like a tall LB, covers like a LB, but tackles like a CB, and I'm not talking Charles Woodson. Was asked to play mostly LB his first two years, then slot CB last year, and now moved to what he says is his true position of Safety... and gets traded for a 7th.
It'll be interesting where the Giants will try to plug him in, as they could use help multiple areas. So far, Simmons best role seemed to be slot CB, but the best part of him there was his blitzing.
Budda Baker meanwhile, built like a CB, covers like a S and tackles like a LB. Other than being small, he has the desired traits, and the Cardinals recently gave him a raise and bonus, despite being in a contract year, they're trying to keep him happy and around.
