Packers are a team trying to get you get and save Salary cap, they potential could save $1.9 million by releasing Punter Pat O'Donnell.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/pat-odonnell-14602/

But whom to replace him with?

The boy fans started calling the "Punt God"... Matt Araiza.

Which brings the question of why Araiza isn't currently sign, simple answer is because he was at a college party house, there was a gang rape at that house, that night, and a civil lawsuit and claims he was involved in it (which Araiza's people are suggesting involving Araiza in this is a money grab, as he had no knowledge nor involvement in it).

Well Criminal Prosecutors have finally spoken out publicly and said Araiza was at the party, but left at least an hour before the gang rape accrued. Which if true, he probably had no knowledge or involvement in that happening.

So maybe a team signs him... of course, they might also still avoid him until the civil case is over. But they could probably save $1 million by signing him now and getting him on a cheap contract, and maybe a getting a 7th round pick for O'Donnell. Assuming you trust Araiza legal troubles to be over.

He's my Kicker in Madden. He was cheap and young, inked him on 7 year deal for dirt.

With Coco being released, and the odds of Crosby not being resigned growing, I think having a veteran punter/holder is pretty important.

I went ahead and looked into it a bit deeper.
Gathered from what the prosecution told her and her lawyers to her face:

2nd day in a row you were going to frat houses and telling everyone you were 18

You bragged about having sex with him in the side yard of the house where he was taking a leak. No indication he led you there.

You dared the males in the house to have sex with you.

You had sex with 2 different men on a couch in the living room. All tape indications are that it was consensual.

Your whole assertion that he threw you on a bed in the bedroom doesnt match with the time stamps on the video, he was not in the home when you say this happened.

...

They have so much of this on video. It's actually surprising how much exculpatory evidence exists. I believe the prosecution mentioned 1 terabyte of evidence. They also stated that she refused to watch the tapes they were showing her.

Yet her lawyer presses on with the civil case.

His one problem with the civil aspect remains she was 17 at the time, but again, there are multiple witnesses, including her own friends, testifying that she was telling everyone she was 18.

I'm paraphrasing from what I read, but that's the gist of it.

What came to mind was because he apparently did have sex with her he sort of clammed up and let his lawyers handle it with respect to the media etc. This kid got crucified, and his team bailed because the whole thing was too big of a pain in the ass.

My disclaimer: This is my interpretation of what I read, but when prosecutors basically tell a "victim" why they are not prosecting to the point that the "victim" stops watching the evidence presented... well, draw your own conclusions.

I'd be on the phone already trying to sign him.

But based on your post, lots of suggestions that he didn't do this... and a lot of questions for the person doing the claiming.

Also, if I remember from the past articles on this, someone was strongly questioning the timing. Like the lawsuit could of happened a lot sudden, but seemed to start when he was getting draft hype.

That being said, lots of times true victims are in shock at first and need time to wrap their mind around what happened and the trauma that happened to them, and the delay might of had nothing to outside factors, as I know I have encouraged a friend to press charges against someone whom raped her, and the friend declined, and just never ever wanted to see that person again in their life. Someone might change their mind and press charges at a later date.

But but to original story, this story has many holes in it. I think when the case gets dismissed, 4 to 8 teams will make him an offer.

From what I read, it sounds like Matt wasn't there during the bedroom sex. And while he was there, he went outside, took a leak, she approached him and gave him a blow job. Maybe he forced her? I'm not sure, that wasn't clear.  But based on the quotes from witnesses, it sounds like she was just trying to get as many belt tallies as she could. 😬

PURE SPECULATION. Maybe she regretted the behavior shortly after and thus this situation?
