The offseason is underway for 30 of the NFL's 32 teams and they now know the salary cap they'll be working with in 2023. The NFL informed teams that the cap will be set at $224.8 million for next season. That's up from $208.2 million for the current season and reflects the uptick in revenue [more]

Only $17 millon over the cap lol, no problem we will just be paying for players that are on other teams lol. Maybe they will let us win a few games because of it? I don't see Aaron Jones or Rodgers back and I see Bahk gone also and we will be signing a lot of low priced players and most draft picks will make the team. Wow I just looked at some of the contracts to see what we could cut and we kicked a lot of contracts down the road.

1 - Preston Smith  is under contract till 2026 :(
2- Mason Crosby is a Million dollar cap hit if we don't sign him to a contract
3- Dean Lowry  $1.86 million
Damn and we only excerisied the 5th year option on Gary? So he will be leaving the following year lol. We don't have to many veterans on this team if you look.

Take the salaries of the top 10 paid and we are at $165 million, which leaves $59.7 million for the for the other 43 players.

This reminds me of the Sherman days when we had to let all of the oline go because of the piss poor slaray cap management.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Should Russ Ball lose his job?

Let’s see how they handle this situation. I think Rodgers is definitely gone.

Rodgers is not gone. He's got a $99.7 mil dead cap hit. His $31 mil cap is a little tough to take but it is doable.
Bak is still here. They can add a couple of void years and make it all very affordable.
Gary is not going anywhere. After all the adjustments are made they will sign him to a 5 year deal with a $100 mil signing bonus.
Preston, Lowry and Crosby are not the issue. They can keep them or let them go.
I can see Cobb going after this season but it is not the money but it helps.

His cap hit in 2024 is $40 mil. Dead cap $24 before June 1 and $16 after June 1. Whether or not it is accurate, IDK.

Rodgers contract is a unique contract, Andrew Brandt has even said certain aspects about it, he's never ever seen in a football contract before.

Plus Rodgers has openly stated, if he's traded, he'll have to adjust said contract...

So I wouldn't spend too much time into figuring his out... because there are options and different ways one could read things and it could all be changed in a month...

Also I ask you how much do you want to keep kicking down the street? We are already in a shit hole with tons of dead cap down the line go look at contracts lol. Look at 2024 salaries as is and you have the top 9 guys is taking up $190 million of the salary cap.  Look closer the top 3 is $97 million between Rodgers, Bahk, and Clark  we need to bit the bullet and move on from Rodgers and Bahk . This is what happens when you don't play smart and you just keep pushing stuff down the line. I hated Ted Thompson but he had the balls to know when to let players go and not pay them. I don't see that with Gute and they let Rodgers pull a Lebron James and ruin the team by demanding he says who gets paid and who don't.

So many people were screaming for the Packers to "GO ALL IN". This is what happened. AR12 is in his latter years. They took a shot. 3 TIMES! It didn't pan out. Now they need to work on fixing the cap mess. It can be done.
You know, it's so frustrating to read how Rodgers is running Gute and his staff around. He was upset a few years ago about not being a part of the conversation. That has been repaired. He asked for Cobb to be signed. That was done. It's not as if he is the ne demanding certain players be signed or kept or he's going to have a meltdown. Yet that narrative keeps on going and going and going and going and going.

Zero2Cool (8h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (9h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
