Packers quarterback Jordan Love made a couple of garbage time appearances earlier this season, but Sunday night’s game against the Eagles was far from decided when the Packers turned his way.

Aaron Rodgers left with injured ribs late in the third quarter with the Packers trailing 34-23 and Love came off the bench to play the rest of the way. Love hooked up with Christian Watson for a 63-yard touchdown and went 6-of-9 for 113 yards in what wound up being a 40-33 Green Bay loss.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said he was “not shocked” that Love played well because the 2020 first-round pick has “continued to get better and better each and every day in practice.” Love said that he felt more ready to play than he did when he started a game last season when Rodgers was out due to COVID.

“I felt more prepared,” Love said in his postgame media session. “It just comes down to reps and getting those reps and getting comfortable executing those plays. The more I can get, the more the situation is more comfortable.”

Love’s reps for the rest of the season will be a leading question over the final weeks of the season. Rodgers said on Sunday night that he hopes to play next weekend if all checks out medically, but the 4-8 Packers are on the brink of being eliminated from playoff contention and that would likely change the equation when it comes to who will be playing out the string as the team looks to 2023.

I would lean towards optimistic than pessimistic if I had to choose how his two drives were. Kid pulled in 10 points.

He's got a bit of a windup, which is weird after watching Aaron's compact, sudden throwing motion all these years. It'll shorten tho. He looks good, #nottojinx.

Seems like he was more nervous after the game.

All throws.

Too bad the substitution happened 5 weeks too late.  Rodgers should have sat out starting after the Giants game, when he broke his thumb.  He hasn't been able to throw the ball since, and it's taken its toll on our W/L record.

Bas did a video analyzing all Love's throws.

He felt more prepared being thrown into the game than when he had a few days notice vs Chiefs? What we doing here??

So did Rodgers when he came in.  And the kid has a hose, so I am willing to live with it.

Ok the defense sucks, but this kid did very well for himself.  Perhaps we should be less hyper critical.
Go Packers!!!!

BTW, the definition for optimistic, since you clearly haven't a clue is as follows → hopeful and confident about the future.

Zero2Cool (28-May) : Love says knee affected him all season, groin injury didn't help matters.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : I used to enjoy him on FOX Pregame. Now it's like a frat party of former Patriots.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : He wad all butt hurt because Aaron duped the media saying he was immunized.
