12. GREEN BAY PACKERS
EPA/Play Allowed: 0.00 (17th)
There is really no reason why the Packers shouldn't field a top-five defense in the NFL. The talent is there, and that includes one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Then there's elite edge rusher Rashan Gary and his 86.8 overall grade through Week 5 (11th/125). And there aren’t many interior defensive linemen better than Kenny Clark, whose 87.5 pass-rush grade ranks sixth at the position.
But the Packers can't seem to get a stop when they need one, and their run defense is starting to become a problem. Through five games, they rank No. 30 in EPA allowed per run, at 0.044. The only teams with worse run defenses thus far are the Browns and the Lions. Expect the Packers to figure things out as the season progresses, but this is a disappointing unit after Week 5.
