Ok, we agree more than disagree. Progress!😋

What about Tom makes you feel he struggles in the run game? I know you have implied Bakhtiari struggles as well, but I wouldn't use words like "struggle" for Bakh's run blocking. The reason I use it here is because you have in the past.

But I understand you don't prefer the term "struggle" and probably had a better, less severe term... which I would be alright with too. But simply put, it's the opposite of their strength.

The little tiff in the fan shout out section was I think just you and I blowing off steam. It happens. You came at me saying I am a "trolling asshole" and I responded in kind by saying you are a clueless clown that can never bring himself to admit he is wrong. Neither of us truly feels what we said. That stuff happens at times. People say what they don't mean for many reasons. None matter.

This all started from Carpenter playing safety and you saying it was because at rookie camp there was a shortage at safety. The same thing crossed my mind, so I looked up the camp roster. I informed you that it most likely was not what you had thought because there were plenty of safeties on the roster(6). I thought the conversation was over. All I was saying is that I found it interesting that the coaches played him at safety Friday when just a few days earlier LaFleur announced they had moved him to ILB. I think I added that it was probable that the coaches had more interest in seeing others at ILB at this early stage. For whatever reason.

I think you took it as me saying Carpenter has no chance at playing ILB this season. I do think it will take a lot of injuries for him to see time at ILB. It's been more than implied by Gute and the coaches that he was drafted with special teams in mind. Specifically, Rich Bisaccia likes him.

Again, have a good evening. Look forward to future discourse.

I found this following comment in shout to being a trolling asshole commit.

It's ok that you didn't know there was a 51 man roster for camp until I told you.

Especially when that wasn't even part of the debate...

I think the bigger issues was we were in shout and couldn't write out our whole thoughts, as it needed more space than just the shout area. Our disagreement is that you're looking at all the rookies in rookie camp (just posting the ILBers and S here) and there are four types, 1st year vet (vet), Draft pick (pick), SIGNED undrafted FA (UDFA) and tryout player.

ILB (4) Wilborn (vet), Walker (pick), Brooks (UDFA), (UDFA)
S (5) Gaines (vet), Sterling (UDFA), Williams (tryout), Spillum (tryout), Karcz (tryout)
And they only had 3 CBs vs 8 WRs... so some of those Safeties were probably helping out at CB

You're saying there are more Safeties, and yet the Packers STILL put Carpenter with the Safeties...

Where I believe they set it up on a priority list... I don't know what priority is first, but I'm pretty sure tryout players are last priority. With that in mind... not counting the tryout players, it'd look like this...

ILB (4) Wilborn (vet), Walker (pick), Brooks (UDFA), (UDFA)
S (2) Gaines (vet), Sterling (UDFA),

Where having Carpenter at S, for players that are actually going to be back is important. As the Packers currently have 89 players signed... so until the release someone, the tryout players are competing for 1 spot. So I don't know if it's smart to count the tryout players whom could be gone at any second when an agent calls saying a team offered a contract.

So I think it's smart to put Carpenter at Safety, as you got 4 ILBers that are going to be back (at least based on current signings) and only 2 S that are going to be back. Putting Carpenter at Safety evens that out a bit.

Also, looking at the entire 89 man signed roster....

At ILB (8) you got Campbell, Walker, Barnes, Summers, McDuffie, Wilborn, Brooks, Brice
At S (6) you got Amos, Savage, Scott, Davis, Gaines, Sterling

And recent history would suggest a "3-4" team will go 3 Safeties more often than 3 LBers... so comparatively the Packers should be heavier on S then LBers and they're the opposite way currently.

And I'm thinking they should up the number of Safeties they have, because I had a flash back to 2006 season... when the Packers just signed S Marquand Manuel, but 2nd year S Marviel Underwood (not to be confused with the more remembered troubled CB Brandon Underwood)... but 2nd year Marviel Underwood looked like he was having a huge breakout and become a starter with Nick Collins. But in the last preseason game, they didn't have enough healthy Safeties and asked Underwood (the young guy) to finish the mop up duty and he ended up tearing two ligaments in his right knee. He was never the same again...

But point being, I want enough guys per position to be able to have mop up duty without putting anyone important out there... (though the NFL helped, when they stop forcing teams to release players early... the cutting down to 75 players before the final preseason game was kinda stupid and they finally realized that... which has helped teams).

Bottom line to me, and you may disagree....

Carpenter is here to make a difference on special teams, and he needed to be assigned to a position room, LaFleur chose ILB.

I have 9 rookies that I really like. I have two that I hope can make a difference on special teams. No, I don't think Carpenter or Ford will ever have impact on the defense.

My wife is never happy when I make bets, but I will bet our home that Christian Watson has more receptions than MVS this season.

Edit: Sorry I put this in the wrong thread. No wonder some people hate me around here.😏

It's 5 a.m. I am half awake. I have excuses. I also blame M-Tundra because they posted 2 twitter videos back to back. One here and one in the Christian Watson thread. That will screw me up at 5 a.m. Be warned.😋
