4 fumbles all year isn't THAT bad.

You're right. It's only fourth-most in the league. ;)

Seriously, though, I'm surprised how low the numbers are on that table above. Running back fumbles appear to be a fairly rare event in the NFL.

Grant receives quite a bit of praise, mostly deserved, but coughing up the football seems to be something he does. Had Seattle been able to pull out that playoff game last year, how big of a goat would he have been? Would he have even been able to hold out?

You are aware that in 2007 regular season Grant fumbled a total of ZERO TIMES

His 1st fumbles were vs Seattle

He has less this year then AP, Gore, Steven Jackson...

I think of Ahman Green more of a fumbler than I do of Grant

Grant didn't have a great year sure but I am tired of hearing people act like it's unacceptable for a back to not have 1500 yards.

I dunno maybe I am just biased or something because I like to watch the guy play but he always looks to me like hes one of those players who is giving everything hes got on every play.

2007 was awesome but I don't remember at all seeing Grant get wrapped up in the back field so many times as he was this year. I think the fact that we aren't able to run on 3rd and short or at any time inside the opponents 10 is sad. This is what was the problems with our running game this year but these are problems we had nomatter who was running it. Not busting 20+ yarders all day long is fine with me.

How is this for a stat... League leading running backs with regards to fumbles.. his numbers are comparatively low.

Rk Player Team Pos Att FUM	FUM %
1	A Peterson MIN RB 363	9	2.48%
2	Frank Gore SF RB 240	6	2.50%
3	S Jackson STL RB 253	5	1.98%
3	Larry Johnson KC RB 193	5	2.59%
3	Chris Perry CIN RB 104	5	4.81%
11	Ryan Grant GB RB 312	4	1.28%
11	Julius Jones SEA RB 158	4	2.53%
11	M Jones-Drew JAC RB 197	4	2.03%
11	Ricky Williams MIA RB 160	4	2.50%
22	Marion Barber DAL RB 238	3	1.26%

Point being.. he doesn't cough up the rock all that much.. once every 78 carries.. but he has caught the ball another 18 times to boot.

Again.. he didn't meet the numbers to deserve the bonus.. and he isn't upset about it.. media looking to stir it up more than anything.

4 fumbles all year isn't THAT bad. By the way, I don't hear you complaining about Deshawn Wynn's fumble...

Isn't THAT bad as compared to what, Ladanian's 1 or Peterson's 9. Fumbles cost us points, and this year points were at a premium.

The kid demanded money and I don't feel he delivered, Is it o.k. with you if I have opinion?

Who's Deshawn Wynn? That guy getting league minimum or the player payed as a superstar.

Too many players nowadays are given a pass. I am mad as hell about this season, and Ryan Grant and the O-line are a major part of that.

Weird nobody mentioned the TD run called back. That would have been his bonus.

Of course, the replay clearly showed it wasn't a TD, but Bennett was right - before the replay, that would be a TD and Grant would have his bonus.

If Ryan Grant would have averaged his yards per carry from last year 5.1. He would have been the leagues 3rd highest running back with 1591 yards. This feat alone would have made his payday huge. He was paid to perform and could have written a much larger paycheck for himself.

I look at it like this.

This is what Ryan gets for pushing the new contract issue last year. He could have taken the tender and played, had the same year, and more than likely gotten a deal that was less incentive based this year.

He wanted the contract now, and agreed to this deal. He made his bed, and he now has to sleep in it. But I really haven't heard any complaining from Grant either. Looks like the media is trying to make this an issue, not Ryan.
